As an ex, advertising / fashion photographer in the ‘70 s and 80 s, using a Hasselblad 500c then m, thanks for the magic memories of the sound of that sheath being pulled out of the magazine and then that beautiful clunk of the shutter, pure bliss. Thanks Paul.

Awesome video as usual Paul, for me the clear winner is at 5:38 with the 50mm, the separation between the tree and Islands on the horizon and use of negative space make's this a wee masterpiece Imho. Top job mate.

I love the 120 Pan F film. Man, if you scan that 6x6 negative with a high res scanner, the resolution will be insane. The IQ knocks the socks off the vast majority of modern digital cameras.

Pan F is a contrasty emulsion with a short straight section and abrupt toe and shoulder in its spectral response curve. The best way to deal with it is to rate it @ 25 or 32 and use a compensating developer to retain as much information on the negs as possible. The contrast can then be adjusted during the printing or scanning stage. Great photography BTW.

Lovely tree and location with good results. I'm 2 years late but I find the tree position against the dark island in the background a bit strange it's to one side. My immediate thought was you'd centre it a bit more or have the darker isle left of the tree and the darker hill on the right but what would I know 🙂 Also love the shot with the tree stump and swan!

For the 150, I would recommend a ring that converts it to 67mm. You can use it for the 80mm 2.8 as well, and the 67mm filters screw into the 50mm lens, but be careful with that one, since the actual thread is slightly smaller.

I had a feeling the 150 would find a wider friend sooner or later! As always very nicely done, love the aesthetic of the Ilford films/long exposures of the tree in the lake, especially the rippled reflections. Sorry to hear about the lens not surviving it’s first swimming lesson, but the camera did📸. Hope the socks were waterproof, I probably would have taken them off (barefoot probably works better if it’s warm, said the Florida man), nice little vacation spot you’ve found there!

Excellent composition! I particularly liked the swan image which also shows the range in tonality this film is capable of with proper exposure and development. The film has it's own unique signature but can lose mid-tones and shadow detail in high contrast lighting. I like it more than Fuji Acros, which to my eye looks steril. I shoot Pan F at box speed which usually means long exposures on a tripod. I have had great results with Pan F in Rodinal 1+100 1 hour @ 20C stand development (4 inversions @ 30 minute mark to avoid bromide drag) I used to shoot more Pan F when I only had a 35mm kit because it enlarges so well, exhibiting very little grain. I have found useful, for long exposures, the free Android reciprocity app named "Reciprocity" by Hans ter HorstPhotography The app. requires you input filter factor and/or bellows draw for the emulsion and calculates proper exposure times. I also have the trifecta 50, 80, 150 on my Hasselblad 500C/M and find all 3 focal lengths useful. I use the 80mm the most with occasionally using the 50mm for landscapes and architecture and the 150mm for portraits or when I want to isolate or compress elements in the landscape. You may also find the available extension tubes great for macro. Great content!

I mixed feelings about Pan f. I’ve shot a couple of 35mm and a couple of 120 rolls and I see the potential of the film but never feel it’s quite what I’m after. You seem to have hit the nail on the head though. It pulled some great contrast out of that low contrast day. Good job.

Photographing a black dog with my 501C/M, I could never get texture in the fur at any exposure shooting Pan F. I was able to get Pan F to solarize (black sun) with no problem. For controlled lighting and bright light, I favored FP4, for low light, Delta 3200, and Tri-X for everything else.

I liked most the 50mm long exposure shots, so dreamlike. About the composition of the single hill in the background of the tree in some pictures I'm not fully with you, somehow it's distracting from the clearness of the shot in my opinion. But thx for sharing your shooting and thoughts with us. Also liked to see your dog is doing fine and seems to have adapted to the new place - didn't see him for some time.
