Wouldn't you want the gain controlled by the FOH mixer? otherwise if someone on the moniter desk adjusts the gain... it will affect the signal received on that channel?
Separate DSPs for monitors and FOH... but why? I'd have thought the musicians would want to hear themselves as the audience does, so I'm obviously missing something. Is it as obvious as needing DSP to deal with the peculiarities of the venue? Would the sound engineer tend towards the same FX on both monitors and FOH, tweaking the monitors' FX for the stage and tweaking the FOH FX for the audience? Yours in ignorance, jb.
Hello Chaps. To answer both questions on the thread: The iDR 32 doers indeed have 16 OP sockets. You need an x-DR expander to get more. Also, engineer's feeds can come from the OPs on the Surface. Second question, regarding who controls the IP gains: Once they're set for the system, each surface can go into digital trim mode whereby each has their own control without affecting the overall system.
