Someone telling a lie to seem more attractive to someone else has been told time and time again hasn't it? I'm not hating on your comment I agree there is a need for originality I just don't think this is it
@@2CanSam1000 True, but when it’s a true story it’s movie worthy. Plus, if you have followed Iliza over the years you’ve heard the “Brian story” time and time again.
It's hard to call it original when it actually happened, & she's spoken about it in her stand up. She's just regurgitating & adding the Hollywood sprinkles to it, to maximise profits
If you’d like her comedy specials see her live. You will absolutely, positively not be disappointed. She is absolutely brilliant as well as brilliantly funny! Very sweet too, if you happen to be lucky enough to meet her after the show. Edit: I saw her one week before she announced her pregnancy at her show in Texas & was saying to my niece how it seemed odd that she was wearing a T-shirt because I’ve never seen her dressed down for a live show. The next week when I saw her announced her pregnancy I thought “bingo, I knew that was a reason she was wearing a T-shirt“! Very happy for her and Noah, they will be wonderful parents. And let’s face it, they’re going to make a beautiful baby!
I saw Good on Paper on Netflix last night, it was surprisingly entertaining, when she is on screen she commands. She is very photogenic and has a feisty character beefed up by her costar Margaret Cho.
I couldn’t agree more! I just saw her a few weeks ago & it happened to be the week before she announced her pregnancy. I said to my niece that it was odd she was wearing a T-shirt because she’s usually more dressed up for shows. A week later she announced her pregnancy at a show in Texas (which makes perfect sense) and I thought “OK, now it makes sense”. So happy for them! I think they will be great parents and will undeniably make a beautiful & brilliantly intelligent baby. 👏👏👏❤️❤️
I know someone who pretended that *she* herself had cancer. She’d shave her head & wear a scarf on her head & milk everything she could out of everyone. It’s despicable.
I just zoomed over to Netflix and watched Good On Paper, it was really good and my Mom liked it, i knew the story from her stand up but it was really good.
What stand up is it in? Can you post links? I've never seen her talk about it in her stand-up, though I thought I've trawled all the Iliza Shlesinger material there is.
@@mm12345777 Q: Do you guys think this movie is as good or better than her standup specials?! **Asking for a friend**. Just playing, but for real, is it worth it to watch this film? Thanks you guys!!
Why did I know what story the movie was gonna be about before she started talking about it lol. I didn’t know this was even being made lol. I’m gonna watch this tonight.
I was just thinking that same thing!!! Her standup is awesome with the fact she’s so vulnerable & ruthless on stage! But she pretty much says what we’re all actually thinking…but we don’t say out loud because of societal norms of ‘being a lady, who keeps her mouth shut due to our upbringing.” Anyway, as I ramble on and on, I apologize. To the point, her haircut looks really good on her! I’m sure it’s more comfy & cool this freaking hot summer. Ciao!.
Same here. I wanted to ask if the sociopath is Gavern Dane Tate from Jamaica who wasted 5 years of my life. Its very sad that there are others like him around.
@bleedingred Um.. I think I said the guy "I" was dating was living a double life. Besides that, if you can rationalize that someone who "just lies" about his entire life is not so bad and that they're aren't living a double-life, I don't think you understand what that means. He's living BOTH his reality and a fantasy life with her. Get it?
@@flibutterfli So sorry to hear that. Yup there are too many who have sociopathic and psychopathic tendencies but I'm hopeful that with mental health becoming more and more understood and destigmatized, people will be more inclined to watch out for those traits in a partner. You and I learned the hard way. :(
I went to Yale every day for over 10 years ... but the only thing I learned was if you don't put the safety latch on before you close the door behind you, the door will lock !
Love her! I also caught she called Jimmy... Ronnie. (aprox 3:21) lol Had to back up to check that. I could listen to her all day, in fact, I binge watch anything with her on it.
You'd be surprised. The Ivy league crowds that I've met were nothing to write home about. Then again, admittingly, they didn't get in due to scholarships so...
They also have most of the same curriculum as other good schools. Its about the connections at the ivy league schools and the inroads they have to industries all over.
@@ThinkBeFree99 I think that's true. It's more telling of who they were in high school than the rigor of their higher education. (Unless they got in on a legacy basis.)
Just watched the movie, very enjoyable and troublesome at the same time. I've known a few guys that refuse to be honest about who they are to trick females into liking them. It definitely seems like a power trip.
Love her and loved her retelling of the story on Kimmel but the movie….wasn’t worth the time. Something got lost in translation. Hope she tries again someday and gets better writers.
I don't feel that the pressure to date unattractive people (or at least whom one finds unattractive) or they are superficial is something done against women. I think it is culturally acceptable to do against "hot" people. And no one has ever complained that they are not liked because of their looks by someone random. Everyone always complains that someone hot does not like them for superficial reasons. Newsflash, no one has to like anyone. Where did this entitlement come from?
First with the fan, yeah.. Swedish artist Carola used a big fan on her concerts back in 1983. Beyonce was 2yrs old then, so she could not been the first with the fan, right..?
Like a live catfish...(as opposed to being catfished online). Guess he figured she's out his league so he's going to keep the ruse going as long as he can b/c he's never gotten this much attention before and he feels special. Lol...
UMMMM FERPA requires that colleges never divulge who has ever or ever will enroll in said colleges. You can't just call the registrar and get a fully truthful answer about "did this guy go there?". It's illegal federally. They may have said "we cannot give you that information" or, "we are not aware of that person" because of that law. Just for argument's sake. I've dated a psychopath before, so this is painfully familiar.
