This year marks the 771st ILKESTON CHARTER FUN FAIR 2023 which takes place in the Town of Ilkeston Derbyshire however some say Nottinghamshire...You decide!! Located mainly in the Town's Market Place it also covers many other streets and car parks throughout the Town making it probably one of the largest street Fun Fairs travelling in the UK. Steeped with history it's also one of the oldest Charter Fun Fairs in the UK where many Showmen come together to put on an amazing show with there rides and other attractions for the 4 day event.
Ilkeston Fair starts this week from the 18th October until the 21st October 2023 while it's open Wednesday the official opening by the Lord Mayor takes place at noon on Thursday 19th October.
Travelling to this Fun Fair is either by Public Transport or by car with various car parks located throughout the Town of Ilkeston but these can get busy at various times when the Fun Fair takes place but these car parks are FREE after 6pm.
In this Video join me as I capture all the action from the official day many Showmen pull on to the Market Place section of the Fun Fair along with some build up of the Fun Fair rides in that location. Plenty of Fun Fair Transport action where I capture all the Transport movement where you will see how all these huge Fun Fair Rides position there Machines in what is a pretty small plot of land.
I hope you enjoy the footage however I always seem to get spitted when I film Ilkeston Fun Fair and today was no exception when it came to the quality of the camera. Some how the footage isn't the best with some images being really blown out I'm not sure how this happened but I hope it doesn't ruin the quality too much and you can still enjoy some unique footage of how a Fun Fair gets built up before you see it open.
