A ton of obscure and forgotten references and slang unique to the era and neighborhood (1980s NYC). Very well done homage to old New York City, a place that will never be fully understood by those who didn’t live there. So much misery and discontent from the barrage of poverty, drugs, violence and corruption etc with some amazing things that happened as well . The line about sipping vodka with the singer of German Thrash legends Destruction was dope! L’Amours was a legendary club that became known for supporting lots of Heavy Metal , Thrash Metal and Punk Rock bands booking hundreds of loud and fast groups from all over the world . Metallica , Anthrax , TT Quick and Overkill all cut their teeth there. Ill l Bill always has some great shout outs and verses about his metal roots and being involved in that scene which was in the same spirit as early hip hop .
