That's not true. In the past 3 years ill niño played a lot of huge festivals, put out 5 new videoclips with hundreds of thousands views, did some cool tours in the US like the one with Drowning Pool and Hed PE. They've been very busy. I like Lions at the Gate and I think Cristian Machado is one of the best voices of the 2000s but let's try to be objetive.
@@rocktalks5706 Allright, I apologize if my tone was a bit harsh. Let's try to be objective: 5 songs in the last 4 years, from which one of them (Numb) is not new, it was on Confession (which was definitely great, don't get me wrong). That's one song a year... one. And they're not that great, not bad either, but meh... I used to be the biggest Ill Niño fan since Revolution Revolución, I'm telling you. Up until their very last album. And I was sad to hear that they broke up, and that there were suddenly two 'Ill Niño's'. I do appreciate that Lions At The Gate don't milk the Ill Niño-name/legacy, unlike the current Ill Niño does, despite sounding not like it anymore.
Bro you’ve been interviewing these guys for 3 years & they’ve been hyping up the same album that still isn’t out 😂 you gotta get an interview with Dave & ask wtf is going on 😂
Idk what they keep talking about when they say they’re “restoring ill niño to prominence” with the new material, it’s been lackluster. I’s beginning of June now & all they dropped is an “album” teaser, plus dropping the news that its now actually 2 EPs instead of an actual album, which makes no sense, & the songs in the teaser mostly sounded like generic dad rock
I think what he meant by that is that Cristian's performances with ill niño during his last couple of years with the band were not that good. He sounded tired. Nowadays he is doing better (saw him a few weeks ago with Lions at the Gate).
@@rocktalks5706 I agree but Marcos doesn’t sound great I’ve either & he needs a backup vocalist too who’s doing nearly half the job himself lol, their reputation overall hasn’t exactly improved from all the changes & again the album debacle doesn’t help either
interviewer keeps trying to stir up drama by bringing up Christian, who by the way hasn’t even been outwardly negative, “i hope they find their way” isn’t an insult & was a fair statement to make at the time
@@rocktalks5706 brother, the connotation of your questions implies it, & then the interview became more about drama than music or anything important. You could’ve instead asked more about this new ill niño album that was barely covered in the interview
@@SonGohan-gh1yl Marcos sound like he's not allowed to tell anything about the album so these questions kinda meaningless unless you're asking Dave Chavarri himself
@@Dimon13S Meaningless... hahahaa. Dude, he told us the month the album will be FINALLY out. On the other hand, Chavarri doesnt do many interviews, is a very rare thing.
@@SonGohan-gh1yl The "drama" was less than 10 minutes and the whole video lasts almost 40 minutes. And we talked plenty about the new album and the singles that will be part of this upcoming record. He told us the month the album will be out, that is breaking news, no other media outlet has that information. If you dont like my interviews that's fine, but at least if you are gonna leave a comment try to have one or two ideas to actually make a valid point.
Well now Marcos has officially left the band! I don’t see them recovering or really coming back from this unless they somehow brought Cris back, it’s over
Bro youre a good interviewer. Here is my take on ill nino. Marc sounds like a nice guy but the band as a whole sounds terrible live in recent years. Its really not marcs fault in my opinion. The band as whole just sounds terrible live ever since diego, christian, and ahrue left. I will say that the song all or nothing was good and his vocals were good in that song. After this recent news of marc quitting though, i think the band should call it quits at this point. They will never sound as good they did in their early days. Time for them to move onto other things
I would say all of the new singles with Marcos sound good but the first one. Sangre sounded like a really good ill niño tribute band. Since Mascara I think they started to find their own sound.
