As Texas has become more hostile to migrants, the number of people crossing in Arizona has soared. CBS News immigration reporter Camilo Montoya-Galvez has the details. Then, Andrew Schoenholtz, professor from practice at Georgetown University Law Center, joins CBS News to discuss the Lone Star State's border crackdown.

There isn't enough personnel to cover the whole wall and it isn't even a proper wall, its full of holes. There will always be easy places for them to cross and you have the cartel making lots of money smuggling them in ? Governor Abbott is not implementing existing deportation law. President Eisenhower was arresting and deporting illegals in the 1950s.

Because that is an inhumane act, and the federal government knows that as well. Plus, imagine how the the rest of the world will react when they hear the US, they thought was a country committed to maintaining human rights has now dedicated themselves to use violence on migrant civilians

That was done in Asia, blowing up the feet of many wild and captive elephants alike, children too. That is a vile idea. If the border was manned as before, according to the law, that is sufficient. We don't need more laws, we don't need new ways, we simply need to follow the law in accordance with good sense, instead of abandoning it.

Why should they save you if you are in danger? Don’t say because you are American. Plus, they are legally required to assist anyone who is in distress, regardless of their immigration status. They took an oath stating “respecting the dignity and human rights of all individuals”

@RichieJackson217 So this is the thing. I don't call them when I am in danger. It has nothing to do with being American. I have strict rules, standards for me to avoid that..Actually the Supreme Court said law enforcement which border control is has no duty to assist. They are allowed to pick and choose who they help. I didn't make those rules, or even set the precedent. It was 3 separate cases that establish that. I want them to come here legally and have the American dream but legally.

@@user-rf1im5ct6c US federal law, and DHS requires border guards to assist distressed migrants. Therefore, if border guards personally refuse to save distressed migrants, legally they have to. Failure to do so may result in diplomatic and international consequences. Plus, compensation from the US government to the families of the deceased.

How to get in the US the legal way: Step one: go to any border town in mexico, reside there for atleast 5 years and make a name for yourself Step two: now that you have money a house and a car get a lady with a visa pregnant and marry her Step three: make her give birth to the baby on US soil Step four: wait 18 years and then, success!!
