The city I live in converted an old, small school into apartments for the homeless. These were rent free for up to 2 years at which time residents were to start paying a very, very minimal amount of $$$. All a plan to help people get off the street and give them time to straighten out their lives and get a job. In all, 60 apartments were created. 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units available. How many homeless people took advantage of this? When it first opened, 11 homeless people moved in. As of July 31st, 2023, there are 16 people living there. So again, I disagree. Some of these losers really do want to be homeless.
