but in all fairness - I do appreciate the genealogy of house and techno, and electro for that matter. And I remember a time when it was really hard to separate the two. askadetra is speaking more about a (his) feeling for sound than the history of a style. That there is an evolution of sound that occurs independently of people, and the banners we apply. There is so much music that is difficult to categorise, I think precisely because sounds ultimately evolve independently of any genealogy we ascribe to it. (in fact everything evolves without regard to the genealogies we try to ascribe). Peace out y'all!
