Absolutely great video, I can only imagine the effort you put in, I’m from this area, know it well. Lovely music, I don’t normally like music on the tube, you hit it just right, well done.
7:18 That is Mixenden, the buses are on Mill lane, camera is looking towards the Golf Course and yes there was a mill just to the left off picture but was demolished and replaced with an insurance company I remember it as provident, also now its new houses. Thanks for these videos they are fantastic!
yes you're right - this was actually the first one i did - and i didn't put much detail of the area! - i was on illingworth edge when taking the shot (i think illingworth valley covers quite a bit of Ogden too) Mixenden is on the left - then it splits into Ogden at the middle part - we've lived here for 26 + years (our house is in the middle behind the trees at Ogden - you can just see part of it on the older image, which tells me the photo is from 1975 or a little later 🙂
I know the one you're on about, yes that's Queensbury - nice place ;-) I've done a Queenbury video too. we live at Ogden - great walks there (Calderdale way) if you like walking ;-)
Why do all old photos look so much better? so clean with no trees spotless fields, now everything looks messy and horrible cant see anything for trees everywhere
