I was at this fantastic game with my 10-year-old son. When Deron Williams hit the 3 to tie the game at 80, a musclebound, over-the-top happy fan next to us tossed my son in the air and caught him! 😲
My parents called me and said they were going to the game. They would call woth updates, then in the last 3 minutes of the game, no call. All of a sudden, my Mom calls screaming about the game. They decided to drive down to St. Louis for the Final Four. Illinois wins, and they call back telling me how they decided to stay until Monday for the championship game. I was happy for them and ticked off at the same time.
One of the most entertaining games in the NCAA tournament I have ever watched... Tight throughout until about 5 minutes left...then Arizona surged, then Illinois surged (helped by some home court refereeing)...but even with the Illinois surge...you never felt like Arizona was ever actually out of it. It was 'like a heavyweight bout', in the words of the color man...and neither team deserved to lose after the effort they put in.
Please show me where there was "home court refereeing." Who was the color analyst who said Illinois relied too much on the 3? He no sooner said that and the Illini came back mostly via the 3. If you mean at 1:03 when there was a double team and a steal, that was clean. I don't know why Enberg said that a foul wasn't called. That's because there was no foul.
