Hello! firts part is perfect. But i have a problem creating a pattern brush, send me a message: the selection contains an error element. I did it in Ai cs6. Thanks a lot for me is very important your answer.
You could copy your brush segment from Illustrator into Photoshop. In Photoshop make sure you are on the layer with the brush segment and go to Edit / Define Brush Preset. Then Select the Brush tool and from the Brush Panel choose Shape Dynamics and change Control to Direction. This will allow the lace to follow the direction of your brush strokes. You could also make a path in Photoshop and then Apply a Brush to it. Hope that helps.
+Shren Sylvester If you only have Illustrator you would have to find an image of white lace on a black ground or black lace on a white ground. Ideally it would be in repeat but you could use a traditional Mask in Illustrator to pick out the repeat in the lace. Then use the Opacity Mask trick that I show towards the end of the video where I recolor the black lace to green. Or you could get another app (Gimp, Photoscape, Picasa) to crop and remove the background of the lace image. I hope this helps.
I seem to be having an issue making my lace a pattern brush. It won't allow it (says it contains an element that doesn't allow it to become a pattern brush). I followed your direction is part one exactly. Any suggestions?
+Ariana Adam Hi Ariana not sure what you mean. If you go to File / Place uncheck the Link box at the bottom of the Place window. If you already have the image in your file and it has a X on the face of the image then click Embed on the Control bar. You need to embed images before you can use them for brushes.
