Great video, thanks for this! I agree with most of your choices except a few. The main one is the staking pool: you did not even mention impermanent loss. I think with a successful game launch, the price gain of ILV token could greatly outpace the price gain of ETH, which means you could lose most if not all of the extra yield you get, so I think it's very risky rather than a top choice. I also think there will be a very profitable illuvial trading strategy on the market for those who pay attention to the details ;)
I do see what your saying, I should have mentioned impertinent loss. But it can also protect you from the downside because ILV can and has outpaced ETH to the downside as well. So yeah there could be opportunity cost to the upside, but also acts as risk management to the downside in my opinion. I thought for a while about putting illuvidex trading in the high risk high reward sections, but ultimately I didn’t like the idea that something out of your control can influence the prices such as buffs and nerfs.
Sup brother. Got a question. You said the APY is today down to 12%? I just started staking but I am receiving around 70%. But I chose to lock for a year. Am I missing something, or are the 12% that you mentioned If you to stake for a month ?
Yeah so in my latest video I talk about it a little more. The ILV only pool is actually only about 5% right now. The Sushi LP is around 70% for the year lock up.
Good thoughts. I can agree. I think there are many jokers here. I hope land investments will pay off giving steady returns. And that there will be an easy rental/scollarship system. Not everybody can afford land.
@@NijafePlays hopefully the sponsorship program will give those without the money for land a chance to say to someone "hey give me some fuel and shards then i'll go farm illuvials for you"
Oh and I just remembered. Didn't Kieran also say that there would be an Illuvial rental system (maybe by a 3rd party)? Renting out your Illuvials when you're not playing with them is a great idea.
Yeah great point. I kind of lumped that in with “sponsorships” but it is actually different. It’s almost a form of staking your Illuvials. Passively put them into a protocol to make a return.
@@NijafePlays Yeah exactly. It's not going to be a huge amount, but at least something. I caught in Pokemon Red all 151 Pokemon back in 98/99 and I haven't played with them since then. Now imagine the limited Set 1 in 20 years still earning a little bit of yield even though you haven't touched the game in 2 decades. And as you said, a patch could change the meta and therefore the demand for different ones. So much potential here.
YES! I also played Pokémon red and caught them all. I think I had to go to a toy r us event to get Mew haha. But that’s exactly how I think. Being able to take these with us forever is a game changer.
Great video. Your tier list is on point except for the Illuvial trading. I think it is high risk high reward for those who are good in flipping NFTs. I have made a good buck just by flipping land at the moment + the bonus of getting free IMX tokens. I think the Illuvidex will be very busy when the game goes mainstream and sniping NFTs is one of the things I am looking forward to do. More content like this please. Thanks :')
I do somewhat agree there is a chance this can be a very good way to make some money. The thing I don’t like is when the game balances characters. Other games like Axie have shown be how the value of an NFT can be cut in half instantly with balance/patch notes. Some will be smart enough to see this coming, but many will not. Thanks tho! This video was fun to make.
