This is a very interesting idea and a completely new one for me. What sort of wildlife would a salt lake attract? Maybe a canal instead of a river? I am not an engineer. I too have an idea for post war Gaza. Gaza should be "flooded" by an emigration of peaceful muslims, christians, hindus, jains, buddhists, jews etc... atheists, agnostics, ...so that "the whole world" helps those Gazans that truly want to live in peace. Then you could have one Gazan home surrounded by 3 non-Gazan homes. In 4 generations of co-existence, you could have a Pestalozzi type society. Let's put all our ideas of post war suggestions here.
