Getting back to the game after about 4 years. I tried the ‘42 Sturmovik with the improvised gunner. I figured that Ivan in the back would at least give me warning when some bad news was coming in high six. That version of the plane has become a real dog, much more than you would expect from 150 kg or so for Ivan, his gun and ammunition plus the canvas strap he gets to sit on. (I figured on just taking a bit less fuel, but that didn’t cut it.) I think they made some changes, or maybe it is just my memory.
@old_guard2431 yes probably best avoiding using the rear gunner on the 42. I'm not sure the changelog on that plane. I'm flying the 43 now and its a bit better in that regard
@ 6:56 attk muck better if along axis of column. Long or short rokts more like to hit vehicles fired along the long axis; enfilade . And brings entire column under attk; rather than slicing and dicing. And minimizes time in tgt zone. Esp w/nme fighters hovering near.
