Age is more than just a number. It shows what a useless person you are being an overpaid delivery boy. You become part of the problem delivering food to lazy useless losers who won't go get their own food. Then you cry and whine all day about not getting tips. Your girl can hear you crying about not getting tips so she goes to sleep at night worrying about why does her dad cry so much. It affects her performance in school and real life not understanding why her dad is such a crybaby. Then her classmates in school start to sense her weakness and bully her. The bullies will go home to celebrate bullying her and order food delivery because they are lazy useless losers. And the cycle begins again. Only you can stop this, so do you want to?
When I started listening to this channel I was in my early thirties trying to finish school (bachelor) I'll be in my later thirties this year with a FT job in my field and a Masters this December, inshaallah. Next year my CPA journey begins. Yeah I'm not in my 20s but hey could be my age and still no where close to where I want to be. Took a lot of bumps and bruises. That being said, when I started watching you, you didn't have this many subscribers or your own home. Didn't put those conferences together either. You've come a long way. It's funny how we don't know each other, but since 2021, since I started watching, we have come a long way. You ever thought about going to school yourself? Never too late. Take care.
Shoot, I'm 56 and I do Spark and DD full time. I get the whole age thing a lot, and I just look at them and tell them I have a fun job, can take time off whenever I want, and I'm probably better off and less stressed than they are. I know a senior couple who does Spark, and they are in their 70s! They do it for a little extra money and have a blast. Age is nothing but a number.
I'm 49 and do DD full-time. I have never been happier with myself, and my earnings! I provide for myself and my mother, and I have been able to pay off my car, never miss a mortgage payment on my house, pay the bills, eat well and boost my credit score above 750 heading to 800. I have all my bills paid for August and September, and am just living the American dream!
I'm 40 years old doing this full time. I hold two degrees both in Public Policy Administration with concentrations in Non-profit management and Applied Research Analytics. I graduated with honors. I specialize in quantitative and Geospatial data science with a focus on policy. I do this work full time. I've NEVER been offered a position where I would make more than I make currently. I do this because I can work as much ad I want or as little ad I want. Do I want a job in my field? Yes, but I haven't been able to land a job since graduation. Who can say working a professional-level job can just take off 3 months out of the year? I can. I spend three months a year with wife and kids in Zambia. I can't do that in a data science position. I don't have to request time off, cuss out an executive or director for treating me or my team like shit. I am my own boss.
What they will never understand is the peace this job supplies for our mental state. Especially in this world where emotions and mental stability is way more valuable than anything which it actually provides
Bro this dd Uber stuff does not provide no peace your not making any real money dropping off food it’s the most basic bottom level job they take anyone
THIS! This is why I up and quit a 50k a year job to do this temporarily while I make a career change. The market in my area is not good enough to keep me dashing, but it's giving me some source of income in the meantime. Nothing is worse than the misery of a job that steals your sanity and soul. Mine was so bad and I was so stressed that it was making me physically sick. I'm too old to just accept that and keep doing it. I value myself more than that.
24. I'm a network engineer and I'm in a interview process. It may take a month or two. And instead of laying on my ass all day till I start working, I'm delivering hot wings to people.
Welcome to America. I also find it strange when meeting someone within a minute of talking they ask “what do you do” no one anymore ever takes the time to say “how are you doing” or ask any questions on a topic that actually matter. All most people care about is money money money or status. America is pretty much a big brain washed country.
At 42 if your smart and work hard..............WHATEVER THE HELL YOU WANT. I am 54 doing gig work full time for 4 years now. Gave up a very good job in industrial construction. Make less money now working more hours yearly, BUT im home, not on the road 6-7 months of the year. Now days its a real grind but still worth it to me to be at home.
When someone would tell me that I need a 'real' job. First I asked them what a 'real' job was then I tell them how much I made last week. When I did get a 'real' job, I worked 40 hours a week and work my 'fake' job 20 hours a week and STILL made more working a 'fake' job than I made working a 'real' job. As long as your bills are paid and there is food on the table why should anyone care?
That's just it. They want you to think anything that doesn't require you to be chained to a desk nine hours a day isn't "real work". And they have a lot of working people hoodwinked into believing that as well. @soulseeker1651
@@soulseeker1651 I loved delivery but I did pizza delivery and it's the people that drove me crazy. Would love it if I was healthy enough to be doing gig work, then you are your own boss.
52 and I do instacart & shipt! And I have a W-2….i make the extra money for trips and my savings account! Took my daughter to France 🇫🇷 with her school on spring break this year!! #gigmoney
I just turned 30 in July “Leo gang” and I’m never going back to the w2 life . I worked at Amazon for 4 years and the toll that took on me mentally and physically never again . I’ve hated the w2 world since i turned 18 and got my 1st job in college . I quit Amazon in February been doing instacart ever since ,before I did instacart part time been on the app since 2019 ,but now I’m full time and I might not be the richest person but I get to work on my ultimate dream of becoming an artist .. without all the W-2 stress 🎨
I'm a teacher do a lot in the summer and just Saturdays mostly while school is in session. Being able to work on my own terms during my breaks is why I like this.
I'm 55 and delivering food/groceries gives me the time and flexibility that I want. I have other income streams and when they are low I can work more on deliveries and when I have just a little time, I can scale back. If some of the people I deliver to knew that I had no debt and I'm self employed in addition to delivery they would probably be surprised. I don't drive anything fancy - it's paid for and I'm about to pay cash for a new to me car - I don't/won't buy new cars EVER. It's all about what is important to you not what others think of you. A lesson that becomes more obvious, the older we get.
People also ask me when I’m going to get another job or tell me I should lol like this ain’t a real job.. I get up everyday to do this “imaginary job” I guess 😂
I dont understand why people say get a real job, you still pay taxes doing any independent job. Thats a job. It takes a certain type of person to deal with all the businesses, and customers, and weather. It wouldnt be this popular everywhere if you couldnt make the money that people make. Its over saturated in alot of areas.
Miserable people always put their own insecurities on other people. That's the real reason irrelevant people say inappropriate things about your job.Your content is awesome!!! I am going to like and share your channel. Keep making your 💰💰🤑🤑 money sir!!!😊
There's absolutely no shame in honest work. Rather I'm flipping burgers or delivering burgers, regardless of age... people who look down on others are the shameful ones. The prideful shall fall and the meek will inherit the earth. Humble yourselves or get humbled. I have no doubt Pedro is better off now both mentally and financially than he's ever been....and good on him.
Yeah. The disrespect to honest work only exists here in the states… it is OBSURD. What the f even is a “real” job? All jobs are made up if we REALLY want to be specific.
Pedro, i dont care if you delivered grasshoppers, dude what ive seen is you grew your channel, step 1, step 2 you bought a home, step , 3 your family is beautiful, step 4 you have helped many people, its freakin awesome mr man to me thats impresssive 💯 i dig what you do i like the cursing, the reactions its awesome. Chin up my freind its all going to get better 👍👊 your sub Eric....
Im 50 and I’m also a Scorpio. I do door dash but most of all I’m a HUSTLA 💪🏼 I sold greeting cards in my neighborhood which happened to be in public housing. (You gotta be good to get sales from poor people) We didn’t have a fancy name like Section 8, it was just the projects. I sold newspaper subscriptions door to door when I was in 7th grade. I sold candy in school and on the school bus. I made bracelets out of telephone wire and sold them to all the girls in school. (Even made some a little longer for the big girls with the bigger wrists) I spent 33 years in retail, 25 of those in management. During the pandemic I got tired of working for someone else so I quit my job and decided to work for myself. In 2021 I got my real estate license and now I’m licensed in 2 states. I door dash to knock out some credit cards and supplement my income in between real estate transactions. Life is all about staying on the grind and being able to grow and adapt when it’s necessary 💪🏼
@@NazirYahshua My bills are paid. My debts are being paid off. I have cash in the bank. And a 761 credit score In order to pull in the kind of money I'm pulling in I would have to have a job paying $50 an hour. Good thing I bought a highly reliable car to get the job done.
@@markg7540 doesn’t matter get a real job bum gig Econ is for retired seniors and high school and college kids you’re literally depending on tips you’re a stripper
@@SiriusV21 I’m sure they don’t and they wont ever not with out real skills dd Uber no skill so no pay you get paid for what you are and what you know exercise your skills for higher pay
You can pay taxes every year just like a W2 a real job????????????Fuck that i'm doing this until the wheels fall off and i'm in my 50s.The real fact is people can't save their money when it comes in a raw fashion some people need their (hand held) OOPS i meant a W2.
I'm 54 and do this full time . I had a "real job " for 20 plus years. At 51 I couldn't do it anymore and started this to just make money in between jobs. Well 3 years later I'm making more money doing this then in my 20 years of a "real job". This honestly will be my retirement job. I absolutely live it. Probably in a few years I might switch to driving people around instead of lifting 50 lbs of dog food up apartment stairs lol . But I'm so thankful for gig work. No more babysitting idiot employees who dont want to work.
Im a 58 yr old woman who lost her "real job" about 2 yrs ago and started dashing. Have been looking for a "real job" ever since with no luck. I have recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer which will make it even that much harder to get a "real job" under going chemo which is so much fun so at this point I dont have a choice 😢
I’m a 58 year old woman (but feel about 30) I love delivering! ❤ I put my cowboy boots on and hit it! It’s great exercise, I make my own hours ,plus I listen to my music (which makes everything more interesting) Oh! and the tips are awesome too! 😁
Wtf is a real job? I know a girl that got a degree in engineering but ended up quitting and becoming a stripper because she made 4 times as much money as she did with her "real" job. Do whatever makes you the most money. If you see an oppertunity that will make you bank, take it. Fear and not taking risk doesnt do shit. Sure get a real job, but if someone is making more than a job with a schedule and all the bs, good for them. Age is just a number man. And with modern medicine, 42 will be the new 22. Fuck the haters.
@TheManFromJerz201 as long as we live in a Capitalist system that benefits capitalists, we do what we have to do to survive. It's not our fault this system dehumanizes us and forces us to fucus on making ends meat. If you don't want to live that way, I'm sorry to tell you that the only people who don't have to do this is the small group of capitalists who built this system.
@@jazzmann1984 Maybe I’m too focused on the “do whatever makes you the most money” aspect, but would you rather make 100k a year and keep your dignity and morals or make 110k and throw all morality out the window? Furthermore, and it might be extreme, but would you be fine with a family member and or loved one, being a sex worker because it pays them the most money, given their skill set in life?
At the end of the day, as long you are content with what you are doing and it can provide that is all that matters. Living your life based on approval from other people is one of the quickest paths to failure.
I'm 39 i have a w2 but i do door dash and uber as a means for extra income for trips with the family. By sacrificing a few hours a week i can make my w2 vacation time more memorable.
I just turned 55 the other day, I have been working full time as a computer programmer making a solid income, I have been doing DD/Uber/Spark for almost 3 years now and I intend to continue for probably another 5 years. I do it to put extra money towards my house mortgage, savings to buy a new car when I retire and the rest goes to help grow my retirement. I honestly couldn't give a damn what someone else thinks, let them worry about their finances and I will build mine.
“It’s not about how much you make, it’s about how much you keep” no matter your age or your income(s), if you’re not investing at least 50%-70% of your income(s) then you’ll be working for the rest of your life.
42 as well going on 43. Food/grocery delivery paid for my house and is now putting my son through college. Busy seasons coming up bro. Hope it’s a fun one in your zone.
49 and most of my income is currently from gig driving on 8 apps. Summer has been slow, but I make it work. I have other business ideas in progress, but I would probably still do some gig work just for kicks even if I didn’t need it to pay my bills. I may even start a gig work channel some day, haha…
Im 68. Im a retired teacher. I do this 3 days a week and sub at my old school 2 days a week. Its great extra cash and not hard to do. I love the flexibility. 😊
It's about what you are happy doing. There are former CEOs who became janitors. They have varying reasons as to why. Some were just tired of the corporate politics and hypocrisy. I don't measure myself by others, but only for what I expect from myself. What gets me is people who look down on service workers. The bosses want a clean toilet for their nasty fannies. Everyone wants the trash picked up and the streets swept. Let the trash pile up and start to stink, let the streets and sidewalks go uncleaned, let the delivery people in all delivery industry stop for a few weeks and then we will see who really counts in this world.
I'm 51 and I deliver food. I don't plan on doing it forever, either. I'm helping a friend start a business working on government construction contracts, which often requires me to leave town at the drop of a hat or take unexpected days off. Can you imagine me telling some other boss at a regular job that I'm leaving town tomorrow and I don't know when I'll be back? That's just not going to fly, lol. Gig work is one of the only things I can do that's flexible enough to get this other thing off the ground and give it the time and attention it needs. Thus, I do this because the arrangement works for me - and that's all that counts. I couldn't care less what anyone else thinks about what I do for a living, because most of them are going to be on the same mouse wheel forever, whereas I'm using this to keep the bills paid while I build something that will make me a lot more money than most of them will ever get from their so-called "real jobs" that they're always complaining about. Is that why they want me to get a "real job?" So I can be miserable with them? To me, that's like the boiling lobsters pulling the smart lobster back into the pot so he'll boil with them, instead of getting away. Why do titles and prestige mean so much to people? I honestly don't get it. Titles and prestige are good for only one thing - image. And for me, it's not about image. It's about money and the things I can do with it. Image is nothing but a facade. You might make 6 figures as a banker, but if I'm making 7 in a few years, that image of yours is meaningless. It's fluff! The certificates and diplomas look great on your wall, but they're just pieces of paper that make it possible for you to work for some other guy who's a lot richer, but might not have any degrees. Where's that prestige now? Hey, if that's what people want, fine. I'm proud of all my professional friends out there, regardless of how much or how little they make. It's when they start acting like being a middle class employee for the rest of one's life is the only thing you should strive for and you should be ashamed for stepping out of your approved lane. My advice is simple - do whatever works for you! Those who aren't paying your bills have no business trying to dictate what types of careers are "acceptable" for any other sovereign individual.
I'm a 54 yr old widow. I have a full time job & I do gig work on the side mainly for grocery, gas money or extra "just in case" money. It's just me now, tryin to survive so gotta do what I gotta do 🤷♀️ & I am not ashamed. 😊
I’m almost 46. I have no retirement, and work lower pay retail work. You are probably doing better than me. I also have 5 people to feed in my household. I think a lot of people are getting into the same boat due to inflation ect.
Yo make money, I’ve been an independent contractor my whole adult life. At the end of the day.. make money, make a living, do what you want.. but don’t ever let pretentious people tell you what you need to do for a living
It's pretty funny. I didn't work for 15 years. I was at home with the kids. Not a choice I am proud of after the fact. Yet, I started doing this and in my full 1st year I made around 45/50k range. At the end of the day. Grinding for what you want does work. It's no ones business why you do this or how much you do this or your age. --- Personally, I think anyone saying it. Would rather younger people because they don't want to feel bad about screwing people over. Just me tho.
I think the real question is based upon retirement and health care. Delivery driver earnings don’t leave much leftover to contribute to a SEP IRA or Solo 401k for retirement planning and the monthly cost of independent health insurance goes up every year.
I’m 56 woman and I have been doing door dash for a few wks now. I’ve been doing childcare for many years and had my own home childcare for 15yrs. My current childcare job is coming to an end and I’m looking for another one. I door dash a lot right now and then will go to part time when I get my new childcare job. I’m grateful it’s here for me to make some money while in transition.
I want to say that I ENJOY my job as a courier, delivery driver etc. One thing that makes me so happy, is when I deliver grocery orders to children that are waiting on their groceries. They live in poverty! Being called DOORDASH LADY, TICKLES ME! I love helping communities out! I'm not embarrassed or ashamed of my career! I have met so many people. I truly love making my own schedule and being a part of several communities! Regardless of what career of choice, what you put into it, you'll get out of it! That's with anything in life! Much respect to my fellow Doordashing people! 🙌
go on pedro! I'm relatively young at 12 years old and I've been doing this since my cat started feeding me at the age of 5. It is crazy how far we've come
Im 29 and I do Uber eats spark and doordash full time haven't had a w-2 job in a year best decision I made less stress u work your own time and still able to pay bills, haters gonna hate Pedro
Being stuck in an office or factory for 8 hours might validate my worth to the rest of the world, but it is rather meaningless to me. I have 4 jobs.....all gig work. W2? Gig? Work is work. Period.
I'm 47, work full time at a "real job" in the morning. I also work part-time running an eBay store and part time door dash. eBay and doordash bring in an extra $600-$1000 a week combined. Sometimes I do make more than my "real job". Keep grinding. Money is money at the end of the day.
I do doordash and uber eats as a 34 year old mom trying to make extra money for my family. Ive had aome safety issues recently with doordash deliveries. By that i mean im concerned for my safety. Even though im always carrying and im observant while making deliveries.
I'll be 45 next week. Worked in kitchen cooking for 26 years. Starting dashing year and half ago and I just love it. Plus, my mom does a little and she's 69 years old. People who don't do it, don't know how flexible the hours are and can be integrated into any lifestyle.
I am 44 was a chef for over two decades and I had it with working in that business. I have worked all over the country and made good money but it wears you out. All I did was work and try to please very wealthy people. Nothing against those who made or make great money but the amount of work just wore me out. I honestly don’t care what people think of me but when I was younger I did. Getting older has made me only focus on what I enjoy and be able to not work 16 hours a day on my feet wishing time would go slower so I would have more time to catch up. Always running behind or just on schedule with my old career. I have only done this for two months just to get out of my house but it’s nice to see different areas of town I never go. I don’t take ridiculous orders though because being used just makes people mad and having resentment never ends well.
When a W-2 worker laughs at you, due to their own pride, I laugh back. Work is work. The only thing that matters is how you do your job and being a professional at it. Its not a secret, theres lots of trash workers in every profession. Prior to doing some gig works, i had to deal with lots of lazy trash co workers at my big corp w-2 job. Seeing that, im sure there's a ton of lazy, trash gig workers too and that makes gig work look even worse.
I'm 41, I work a W-2 job. I doordash for extra side cash and donate plasma. I don't do either of these side hustles because I want too, in all honesty, I do it because the cost of living expenses makes it so where I have to do it. I'm glad the opportunity exists so I can make what I need to make ends meet. If anyone is giving you a hard time, they need to reflect on their situation and realize it's envy/jealousy, whatever. Haters gonna hate. Keep doing your thing.
I wonder what these 🤡 say about an 60 year old doing this? Very true, us gig workers are looked upon as the lower class ( steerage section of the ship) Even as a 60 year old, you can read the body English of a customer. " Here is my peasant"
I have a college degree, and I'm told to go back to teaching all the time. I hated it, so I work retail sales and drive delivery part-time. Don't be ashamed of honest work, no matter what it may be.
