Join me as I talk about image and meaning. I use Dixit cards (normally a board game) and turn them into an oracle deck. I make spreads of 3 cards at a time, and try to intuitively read what they say (sometimes really poorly!)
23:13 what comes to mind is: A person who has had a rough upbringing as to why they have high expectations on others along with poor choices or they may need to consider their choices from the present to be affecting how they’re future is turning out.
I discover Dixit in a French FB group two years ago where the images were used in a variety of very interesting ways. I ordered the original set soon after and using the images independent of the board game has been a rewarding experience for me personally. I can definitely highly recommend it. Thank you for sharing this.
I really enjoyed this. I love the idea of card decks without labels or guidebooks, and the idea of developing/fine tuning one's intuition through the interpretation of images. I hope you'll repeat this video on a regular basis. It's a fun learning/teaching tool for would-be tarot and oracle card readers.
@@PrismAndCo Following your inspiration, as well as a recommendation from Twist The Leaf, I ran out to buy one of these decks. Was going to start with Journeys, but they didn't have it. Ended up with Revelations, and it is a revelation! Thanks for getting the ball rolling.
Totally loved this!! With some of the images I was scratching my head but you pulled those cards together seamlessly! Reading cards intuitively is definitely a skill and you’re excellent at it 😊👌Thanks for such an enjoyable and inspiring video 🙏
I’m so very glad you enjoyed! It’s so funny you say so, because I wouldn’t call myself particularly intuitive 😅 this was a really fun exercise for sure though!
Prism&Co I’d love to see more videos like this if you ever feel like doing more! I find them so helpful and really enjoyable.... ps I just ordered my fist Dixit Deck because of this video 😊👏
I'm really crazy for your videos! We don't have *that many* deck creators engaging via YT with other decks/cards & walking through the visual language with that particular eye. It's exciting! Thank you.
Okay, here's my try: If you can walk your own path -- alone if need be -- resisting the dictates of the herd or the horde [UMBRELLA'D FOX WALKING ACROSS HELMETS OF MENACING, HELMETED LOOK-ALIKES], and search instead for deeper wisdom, worthy guides & your higher self [STRONG STUDENT/APPRENTICE/PROTECTED SAPLING/ABOVE/BELOW/ETC], your heart will be lighter & your conscience clearer [HEART LIGHTER THAN A FEATHER/ALLOWED TO ENTER YOUR AFTERLIFE].
@@PrismAndCo Well, I *did* get to pause the video & take my good sweet time thinking about it! It's kind of cuckoopants how fast you could find a narrative thread!
OMG! My twin Tanji just got this, she has the "memories" set and she told me I must get it! I don't know which set to get!!?! The Journey set, one is $90!!! one is just the expansion... I think I'm just gonna get the starter original set and go from there... LOL. Great video. I love your storytelling perspective! xo 🙏💕
I have been wanting to do this with Dixit for a long, long time. I finally bit the bullet and just got the Revelations set on eBay. The box was a bit dinged, but I don't need it; so, the price was right. I'm looking forward to working with these cards. There are so many Dixit sets that I love. I've also played with the idea of working on creating an oracle system using Magic The Gathering cards because I'm a big fan and there is a lot to work with there, including beautiful art. Not quite as surreal, but - hey - could be fun anyway! Thanks for sharing!!
I've definitely wanted to do this with other card games FOR SURE! And magic has suuuuuuch a rich history to pull from. You could get basically any image you wanted to really craft your deck correctly!
I’ve been thinking about the possibility of using Dixit cards as an oracle deck. I haven’t found many videos on the topic, so I’m so excited to see this one! 😊
Oooh, I'm interested to look into these cards now. I never heard of them before. I'm not really an intuitive reader either, but I took a stab at the one draw that you asked for help with and I viewed it as: Someone not interested in joining the mundane workforce (maybe they're simply too clever and find it boring) and should seek out higher education to have the correct foundation and mentors to put forth their ideas as the aren't interested in money but rather the creative endeavors.
Hmm, Umbrella Fox is a man who is either accustomed to using crafty ways take advantage of the masses for gain, or is being tempted by the idea Perhaps a better path to pursue would be to live nobly; bow to the wisdom and experience of those who’ve walked before him - become wise and noble himself (seeker becoming the teacher cycle) When he eventually passes on from this life, he knows how his heart will be judged
I have not been able to get that middle card out of my mind, the image on it, on your triad of cards around min 20:00 .... Would you be able to share which DIXIT pack that is from...? I hope to include that image in my next discussion about The Hermit. Thank you so much in advance for your help! -- PS: Those three images have left a strong impression on me, not aesthetically, but for what thoughts they churned out in my mind --- How **Truth** is not always what is apparent....
