I mean, most if not all of their songs is pretty much what Dan or maybe even the whole band has gone through. Most artists make their songs through what they've been through. Just ask Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park. I would've said Chester Bennington but uhm... yeah :( I actually found a lot of artists that do that and all of the ones I found just so happens to be in my playlists😅 I somehow find songs that are relatable to me I like a lot than the songs that aren't. I have many playlists to compare actually. I have a playlist that is supposed to be relatable to those with the sickle cell disease like me and a bunch of others just because I love them. It's a ridiculous amount of videos vs playlists and I have to cut up some of my playlists(which I started like two weeks ago and am nowhere near finished because it's the one that is around 800 songs...) because for some reason it won't go past 100 songs anymore. I think one or two of my playlists where like almost 800 songs😅 I'm not one to have many favorite so yeah... If anybody asks me if I have a favorite artist(s)/band/DJ, I would say I don't have one because it's all tied between so many of them😅. Not all, just about... 20? artists/bands/DJs😅 Life is crazy...

I think the song sounds good for a wedding, but I think what its sounds like to many, isn’t what the song really intends. While its nearly impossible to elaborate the details in a youtube comment. In short, not much will “always” follow you or to your “deepest” lows. Both of those two things are IMPOSSIBLE for another person to do for another person. Your conscious is YOU and the song is sung from the perspective of your subconscious.

Dan was on his way to his lawyer to sign his and Aja’s divorce papers.. they hadn’t talked for 7 months.. But he got a text from Aja saying that “she doesn’t have to own him to love him” and that “she loved him with no expectations” .. they ditched the lawyers and went for lunch together.. they called off the divorce and now they have a baby boy “Valentine” who is 1 year and 5 months old added to their beautiful family.. Dan wrote this song after he got that text from Aja .. I just learned this today and the song is even better now.. Love Imagine Dragons 🤍

I found this at a weird time, may 17th, 2021 My friend tells me that someone I knew who had cancer, has a week to live, I am in disbelief, fast forward 5 days I get home and am told that he died that very morning. This has no initial impact probably due to the shock. This song started popping up a day after, I shed so many tears that week and still haven’t moved on, this song, to me at least, was the balance of happiness and sad. I just read that the lead singer wrote this song right after the following: He was on his way to finalize divorce papers after he and his wife hadn’t spoken for 7 months. She sent him a text saying she didn’t need to own him to love him and that she loved him without expectations. The went to lunch instead of to the lawyers, patched things up and the rest is history. I remember I was an inpatient at an Eating Recovery center back in 2017 and there was this boy who LOVED imagine dragons. Thunder just came out at the time so he'd always request to play that on the community TV. Some of the other patients were annoyed by how much he'd want to play it but I thought it was cute. I bet he'd love this song. You can't keep in contact with patients after you're discharged so I hope he's doing better. I miss that kid.

I had kidney failure at the age of 18 and was on dialysis at the early age of 31 and dreamed of being able to live to see my dreams come true when listening to this during dialysis. I just saw the story behind this music. I just realized while we are fighting to look for the person to love us wholeheartedly. we often forgot to fight for those people who genuinely loved us first. Yes, we/they may have short comings but I guess, we are still the one to decide who are to stay and not. While the world races with age and inconsistency, I'm glad you are settled with a love one that you are willing to fight for!
