whenever I hear a song Imagine dragons at first I say meh, not bad. then I go running rhythm in the head, I listen again, and finally I just liking it seems amazing. I'm the only one?
First time i heard radioactive it was my worst imagine dragons song... now its my favorite. It happed again with warriors and gold... more i listen to their song more im addicted to them :D
Ahaha this is like me to an extent. I was so on the fence about Imagine dragons and then gradually warmed to them. Now I am hooked and listen to them multiple times in a week
I don’t want much for my birthday today, just want the person reading this to know they are loved. This song and “Clover Cage - Heart Of A City Boy” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together..I love you ❤️
This has to be one of the most visually beautiful music videos ever. Just look at the shadows and use of lighting. Also the throwaway sounds, like those sudden yelps and female vocalising during the chorus, add so much more value to this song. Truly a haunting masterpiece.
The day this video was released was the day my daughter was born. I’ll never forget it. Now we sing to it! This song and “Clover Cage - In The Sky” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together..I love you 💕😊
Everytime I hear a song of Imagine Dragons, my first opinion is that the song is not bad. Then, I listen to the song agains, and I like it a bit more, and then more and more each time I listen to the song. My love for the song increases every time I listen to the song, until the point when I'm completely addicted to the song and force everyone around me to listen to the song. Then, I happily watch them have the same journey as me.

@@trafficcone7893 In my opinion, the song is about the downsides of stardom. The band felt blessed with the unexpected and immense success they achieved but they also realized that wealth can degrade their morals and relationships ("First comes a blessing of all that you've dreamed but then comes the curses of diamonds and rings"). When wealth and fame dictate their lives, hardly anything else can give them personal satisfaction ("When all that you have's turning stale and it's cold"). As their sense of fulfillment is devalued, they gradually lose their life purposes and perhaps that drove them to take off their time from making music and touring to spend more valuable time with their family, friends and themselves ("I'm dying to feel again. Oh anything at all. But all I feel is nothing"). Everyone around them become less trustworthy because who actually cares for them and who just wants to gain from them? ("Who can you trust?") The apparent allusion to King Midas' story further discusses these aspects that they have paid off for their ambitions to be realized.
Look how far we've come...Its been such a long time and its so...So good to see them now. All the way from Curse to Clouds to 30 lives to Its Time to Gold, they have still not managed to fail me.
As a long time ID fan, I have a theory on what this music video is telling us. I think everything he touches, somehow turns to gold. I know the theory sounds a bit far-fetched and wild, but its something to think about.
It's referring to King Midas, and all the lyrics seem to say the same message: " 'Gold' isn't everything. We only get greedier when we are given 'gold'." King Midas' story is that everything he touches turns to gold, but he ends up turning his daughter into a golden statue by accident (he loved his daughter very much, so you know, sad ending with all the riches). Plus he couldn't eat (all his food turned to gold), everything he owned became useless pretty much. The idea is that having money, fame, fortune... they aren't worth much.
Actually it's a Greek myth about a king. Zeus, the king of the gods, granted him a wish, and Midas wanted the power to turn anything he touched to gold. Everything starts to go wrong when he notices even the food he touches turns to gold. He hugs his daughter, and she turns to gold. Zeus doesn't revoke the wish, and Midas dies of starvation.
You guys hearing that in the first few seconds he's saying "دهب" "dahab" which means GOLD in Arabic !!!! I can feel those music vibes coming from Saini in Egypt as i'm Egyptian so i can relate😂
I really love the lighting on this. There are moments in it that feel like watching the sun set, giving a haunting mix of warmth and a sense of loss. And it's beautiful how such a warm brilliance is used to wash everything out in time to the lyrics as they sing about a loss of discernment. It manages to capture both hues of gold and also play out the feelings of the song in a tangible way that isn't as obvious as an acted bit might be.
*Step one:* place hand upon mouse. *Step two:* maneuver mouse to where cursor hovers over thumbs down icon. *Step three:* use finger to left click thumbs down icon. Sorry, that was super troll-y - not to mention douche-y - of me. I agree with the sentiment of the OP's intended meaning. This song rocks! Whoever disliked it needs to get their hearing checked...probably needs to pick up a book or three as well.
The fact that that's not just a part of the beat (the almost hiccup sound) but also them saying "gold" in Arabic gave me a better appreciation for this underrated gem.
I'm stuck in the hospital, recuperating from a car accident. This is just what I needed. Thanks, Dreamy. Edit: Finally discharged. Got a long road and a lot of PT to go, but I'll make it. Thank you everyone for the thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. Love you all.❤️
Is it just me or did people notice that this song is about king Midasas golden touch. This song is about to be careful what you wish for, it may just deceive you into living in tragedy
TheInanimateFight, please explain how they "sold out" and how they're bad now, because I don't think they did and they're great, but I'd like to see a trolls point of view.
When I heard of Imagine Dragons, I was like Ehh, then, as I listen to all if their songs, I like them a little better each time, until I beg and beg for Imagine Dragons Tickets! Now I'm going to see them live soon!
@Brenden O nothing. But the problem with other musicians is that they put women in skimpy clothes. Which is very used and people hate that. Imagine dragons on the other hand. Doesn't do that
This song and “Clover Cage - One More Try” are the only two things keeping me sane through these tough times. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better...We are in this together...I love you..
These guys, don't care if this band is outdated or whatever. Its not. The songs are still amazing, the band is still epic. I'll always be loyal to these Dragons!

when i listened to this song for the first time, i thought that i had broken headphones and i didn’t like it so much… but now? i’m in love with this song😩🤣❤️
Lol, same! It's funny how their music grows on you. There are songs like this that I occasionally skipped over when originally listening to the album and now it's one of my favorites. Some of them just need a little more time to appreciate than others, but I've still yet to hear a bad song.
Antonio Nieves I have listened to a huge amount of Imagine Dragons songs. Perhaps you may consider that your opinion of which song is best is different to mine?
The day this video was released was the day my daughter was born. I’ll never forget it. Now we sing to it! Everyone's talking about Midas, and while you're not wrong, it's not the meaning of the song. In my opinion, he's talking about how when you become famous everything you use or touch becomes valuable. For example, if he were to use a pen, the pen now has artificial value that it previously didn't have.
+haveyouacceptedjesusasyourpersonalsavior he is a king who wished that everything he touched would turn to gold but he could not eat and his daughter got turned into gold
I think Imagine Dragons is the most talented group I've seen, at least in a long time. Their music is epic but they don't use curse words so their demographic includes everyone. Too many groups use curse words as a sort of crutch to replace talent, but Imagine Dragons has no need for that.
