Violas are slightly larger than violins which give them a deeper tone than violins. Unless you've heard them simultaneously or listen to each instrument a lot it's a bit difficult to tell the difference.
I grew up listening to all genres of music. I feel very fortunate and blessed to have been born into a very musical family but i did gravitate more to rock music. But i do thoroughly love a good "stripped down" version of a song.

People are entitled to their opinions but I enjoy them and so do many other people, but I do like to see someone who states their opinion on something when everyone else is saying the same thing.
