You pretty much nailed it. The video is about a relationship that’s become one-sided. He’s hanging there doing nothing, and she’s dancing more frantically, desperately trying to get him to react until the end when she finally accepts that it’s over. He tells her “You’re free to go”, and it ends with her doing exactly that.
Dan’s writing is incredible. Normally he writes from his own experiences and I feel like he can put all those feelings and emotions right on the lyrics. You should definitely see more of them
I’m not too sure but I think the video is the women putting in all the effort in the relationship. Essentially entertaining the guy whilst he isn’t returning anything and sleepwalking through life? Then at the end she bows down (ending the performance) and walks away (end the relationship)
One of the only Imagine Dragons songs since Smoke and Mirrors that I go back to😂 but this one is a certified banger. He wrote this song about him and his wife after they separated. They've since gotten back together iirc
This dancers amazing! She us her own RU-vid channel is how imagine dragons found her, she’s crazy talented and hilarious too. Amazing video of a girl trying and trying to show u how much she loves u but you’re not good for her . She jsut kept dancing for him to get his attention not knowing she deserves SO much more! Awesome to see her ditch at the end.
If she can't grab the attention of a guy being a girl then she isn't worth paying any attention in the first place... Men knows in the first glace how a girl is...just like male penguins...
This is a theory i found on Reddit about the music video the guy is dressed in all black and he's in a hung position, hung by a rope that isnt physical (mental) this may indicate depression, how he feels numb or guilty of something, and he tries to commit suicide, the girl is dressed in a white skirt, it may indicate her hope, her purity, she didn't want to give up on him, assuming they are in a relationship, she wanted to get his attention, clear him out of his negativity, she wanted to be the white light in his black darkness (clothes),the entirety of the song is about a conversation between them, she tells him "hush my dear it's been a difficult year, and terrors don't prey on innocent victims", she begs him for trust "trust me darlin', trust me darlin'" "So look me in the eyes, tell me what you see, Perfect paradise, tearing at the seams" He tells her to look him in his eyes, in it there's broken hope, he's lost everything beautiful in him. "I wish i could escape, I don't wanna fake it I wish I could erase it, make your heart believe" he wishes he could escape from his depression, he doesn't want to fake it and hide it, as it'll continue to grow and grow and devour everything that she loved in him "Now you know, now you know, you're free to go" he tells her that now you know my truth, you're free to go, to leave me "I wage my war on the world inside I take my gun to the enemy side Oh I've been asking for Oh i've been asking for Problems, problems, problems" He wages a war in his mind, inside himself, against his depression that's slowly taking over him "I can't breathe, I can't be, I can't be what you want me to be Believe me this one time, believe me" he tells her that he can't breathe (because of the rope from the video = the depression that took over him), he can't be what she wanted him to be (his non-depressed self).this is what i understood from the song and the video, feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.
I think your right about everything exeped for the part that you said that the song said that she was free to go and you said that he said that she was and she saw her dances not working so she left. I think she was making a show for him to stop floting and once she ended the show with a baw and when she did, it worked and she left, knowing that her job was done.
In the music video, the girl is doing all the work in the relationship while the boy is basically hanging in there doing nothing...she finally realizes he doesn't love her anymore
Hi Suffi, I love Imagine Dragons.. Thank you for this and your great reaction. Maybe you can try listening to One Ok Rock..they have very good songs...
