The song is about Dan wanting to kill the selfish part of himself. When he says "only one of us gon make it out alive and it's not you", he's referring to his selfish side.

Their new album will be two-sided like Follow You's side (soft) and Cutthroat's side (chaos). I hope you still do react to Imagine Dragons because their old stuff is really good. I actually like Cutthroat alot because it's different from their old stuff. For now, I recommend reacting to Hopeless Opus, I Don't Know Why, Round And Round, Friction or I'm So Sorry.

I’m so excited for their next album. Besides digital and cutthroat, they’ve tended to always stay in the middle in terms of having crazy and calm. the next album will be like taking a song like machine and cutting it into two different songs. My favourite of theirs is Destination, but Hopeless Opus is definitely second place

I am a big fan of Imagine Dragons, seen them twice live ! I love these new singles ! Dan the singer has had/still has mental health issues and the song is about killing his depressed self, he posted on twitter to explain both songs, saying they were very different 😊 Love your reaction! Here is what he said about it: ‘Cutthroat’ is on the opposite side of the record, both sonically and thematically. It’s an exorcism of self pity. An examination of my life - finding that I am beyond blessed - and trying to rid myself of self doubt and loathing. Being grateful for all I have. Ridding my mind of all the meaningless things that have burdened me. Killing the part of me that spends its days lamenting about things that bear no real meaning or worth. Finding that at the end of the day only one Dan will prevail, and its the one that loves myself. Loves my past. My present. Loves my mistakes and problems. My weaknesses. My illnesses. One that wakes everyday grateful for life. That lives fully and is present for those that I love.”

Cutthroat is an experimental song and there are so many screams and a sound so strong because it wants to convey the anger in its transparent form - aggressive. In the lyrics, Dan is struggling with himself to be able to let the side prevail where he accepts who he really is

Ok wow. I actually thought it was interesting. I’ve heard a lot of negative comments on imagine dragons but I quite like a lot of their songs . ‘I’m so sorry’ is my fave atm.

Off topic, but...you should do a reaction to Avi Kaplan's latest release, "Song For The Thankful", with animation by the same Turkish artist who did his "It Knows Me" video.
