Some famous actors quoting Irish poets and authors, followed by scenes of Ireland done to Davy Spillane playing "Caoineadh Cu Chulainn" (Cu Chulainn's Lament) on the Uilleann pipes.
This is true. As someone who's peoples came from Ireland, when I went there, I felt this feeling come over me, that I was home. I've never felt so much at peace, at home, at one with myself. It was stirred within my soul. I could live there among the peat, the lush green grass, forever.
... the beauty and the harshness .. the Irish must be a resilient people...the land speaks for itself... and the charm of the music lifts and pierces the soul. It's like a spiritual lullaby.
Daveys playing is so deep with emotion, I cannot help but be deeply moved. I went home to Scotland for the first time in 36 years this summer as my Mother passed away, and took my ten year old son with me. This piece made me long for home, and now that I have been there again, it grips my heart the tighter and the feelings are deeper with a longing to go back again. I will try to go this coming year again and take my son again as he loved it. Davey, Ive heard more of your music, you are a beautiful soul.
@@irishcountrygirl78 the nation is destroyed by the mafia in Éire government Controlled by there masters in the EU.. letting in all these dirty yokes replacing the native Irish.. the kalgeri plan is in full of effect the real native full blood Irish better wake up and take our nations back like our gallant Gael ancestors did tál ⚓🇮🇪 Éire do na hÉireannaigh.
My god, that's so beautifully done by Davy Spillane! Hauntingly beautiful.. and the pictures and lovely words cause tears to fall from my eyes. Thank you, Davy. No one can play that song as you can. Every time I hear Davy play that song, it's as if I've heard him play it for the first time again.
As a field surveyor with Ordnance Survey Ireland (for over 40 years) it's been my privilege, (though not always a pleasure, on account of the Irish weather) to work in most of the places featured in this video. I've returned at times on vacation to visit some of them, since , well, when you're working, you're working. But the beauty of West Clare and the burren has to be seen to be truly appreciated. Over a few weeks if possible. All of the 32 counties have their hidden gems. It's worth taking the time to discover them.
What an absolutely stunning and beautiful this tune and the spoken words that send a shockwave that hit straight into my heart, sank down to the soles of my feet then shoot up into my head, into my memory and out to the ends of my hands, It is a tune of rare and true beauty, it will last forevermore
Perfection, Grace, Exquisiteness, incredible literacy wild beauty, and magnificence of Ireland and its poignant poetry is wonderfully experienced and expressed in this video. Although, I have never been to Ireland, I feel her in my bones and heart, as my maternal heritage is Irish and left there for N.America in the mid-1800s.Thank you very much for this lovely film. I will share it with my 95 year old Mother (Patricia Ann) whom is quite proud of her family's cultural heritage and she was able to visit the fair nation in 9/2001.

I have to agree with you.. Manners and respect are a thing of the past, and certain cities can be dangerous places at night.. The old ways are gone.. No guards to be seen on the streets, and horrible, violent TV programmes getting hige accolades now, as if we all agreed wth them.. I hate those Irish made, violent, ugly TV programmes... 😱
Ahh yes, to miss the days when we bent under the rod of the British, only to be replaced by the rod of the Church. I too long for those days to return! 🙄🤦
@@denisbuckley4569 What have the British Government, or the Church got to do wth Davy Spillane playing the Uileann Pipes, or a few actors speaking a bit of poetry? There's always one... 🙄
@@denisbuckley4569 Manners, respect, less violence, traditional music and dance etc. Today everyone is so souless, have no manners, and there is an undercurrent of violence everywhere you go. I would go back to the 60s or 70s any day..

I would love to see a list of all the places featured in the video. They're all right outside my front door, if only I bothered to take the time to visit them.
You can add many more actor names to this list, such as some others. Richard Harris, Peter O'Toole , Patrick McGoohan, Edmund Kean, Pierce Brosnan, and many more.
I think video is the most talented person I've ever seen.I like the video is the best.guitar cover song. What do you think about this.Thank you for being friends with music.m
To be born to conflict is no lot for any man woman or child. Some parts of this island are beautiful, granted. But it has soaked up as much blood as rain and we all irish feel the pain and weight of it in our dna. To be born of conflict is no lot to wish for. But come and see it. And take some of it home with you.
As gorgeous as this was.. Maybe stick to actors that didn't kill a 63 year old woman and her 27/28 year old daughter by going in the wrong lane Also I think my heart screamed when Gabriel Byrne's voice filled my ears
