If you hide around corners and don't let them react to you usually you won't deal with them, if you just run at someone from far range they'll toss them at you.

I remember my friends and I played Cold War and we went melee only for a match. We lost by a large margin, and someone on the enemy side who was top on the leader was LIVID. I'm talking about every slur, full volume of yelling. He even gave us a death threat. He went 30 kills and I think 5 deaths
