The Jura by Bike - From the Loire to Lake Geneva
After our unforgettable journey along the Loire by bike, we enthusiastically hit the road again, heading towards Cluny. There, we visited our partner Berthoud Cycles. It was an opportunity for us to discover this extraordinary place and receive valuable advice before continuing our adventure.
In this episode, we take you to discover the treasures of the Jura. Hop on your bike and follow us to iconic destinations: the reculée of Baume-les-Messieurs, the Tufs waterfall, the majestic Hérisson waterfalls, and the peaceful Lake Chalain, a true haven of peace. We also explored the impressive Langouette gorges and crossed Mouth before following the Doubs River to its source.
Our adventure then led us to Switzerland, to the beautiful Lake Joux. There, we were lucky enough to encounter chamois in their natural habitat. One of the highlights of our journey was discovering an alpine chalet, Pré de Bière, where we learned about the fascinating process of making gruyere cheese.
After an exhilarating final descent, we reached Lake Geneva for a well-deserved rest before tackling the mythical Route des Grandes Alpes. Every pedal stroke brings us closer to the peaks in this bike touring adventure through the Jura mountains.

Who are we?
We are Alexandre and Romain, two dreamers set out to explore the world. We have already traveled over 4000 km by bike across France, hiking several long-distance trails like the Tour des Écrins and the Tour du Mont Blanc. Our next goal is to travel over 60,000 km across 3 continents and 40 countries by bike, camping as often as possible.
