It's because runway outfits are meant to be art. They're to showcase the talents of designers. Just think of it in the terms of a person walking around with a beautiful painting on their body.. A lot of that couture fashion is sculpture in fabric.

Their relationship was so special. There's a Vogue house tour video she did in which she talks about David quite a bit.

Our "normal" clothes are derived or inspired by these runway outfits. Think of them like prototype vehicles that are not meant for production.

We need to work harder as black and brown women to show who we are for our daughters.

.....there is such subtext behind it too....she used to rock her natural hair....but she was snatched bald from working those runways shows as a model...so she got a weave....actually she is the 1st to rock one the weave was invented to protect her hair...by the hairstyist ....ELLIN LEVAR....her dear friend...i wish she would rock her natural hair again.....

Nah that color looks amazing on her. It’s also cold in NYC so that jacket works. Additionally the subject matter she’s discussing is far more important than what she’s wearing.

She doesn’t look huge. We can see from her face & hands that she is very slim. She looks elegant. This is also her winter look. She is probably wearing something warm underneath.

@@suzawilo that’s so very true and I understand you saying that but Bowie is an ICON of HUGE influence, not just some ‘random’ musician. She never ‘took a back seat’ to him. Only a handful of musicians are on his level plus she of course has her own kind of fame in that industry. ‘An equal match’

.....true....so true....however by the time IMAN had come out with her line pop culture....marketing and advertising...and business..as far as black aesthetics had reached a fever pitch....and IMAN was recognized as one of the most beautiful women in the world....so when she released her line the PLANET responded....i remember she LITERALLY named a lip color after MISSY ELLIOT called....MISDEMEANOR RED...she gave MISSY a CASE OF IT....and MISSY CRIED LIKE A BABY....LIL KIM....stopped wearing CHANEL cosmetics because of IMAN....and KARL LAGERFELD....SMILED and said how much he LOVED IMAN....and how SMART she was....my mom was addicted to her foundation...IMAN did the right thing at the right time and she DID shake up the WORLD...now there is FENTY...and graciously IMAN...is very HAPPY for RIHANNA....
