In Ireland, Imbolc is Brigid's Day AND the beginning of Spring. There are many customs and traditions around Lá Féile Bríd and in this video I am talking about the blessing of the tools and seeds for the forthcoming agricultural year.

Absolute terrible weather here, a very sore throat, headache, and general tiredness... I think it's a message that I need to rest and leave sickness and winter behind for the 1st of February ahead! Currently knitting myself a wool neck warmer and simply resting for the celebration ahead. Many Blessings from County Cork and keep healthy and warm everyone. Blessed Imbolc.

Oh dear I came down with a terrible headache too, temperature and sore throat, achy all over. Hymalian salts and bath salts, Epsom and Lavender, in a warm bath helped a lot

Terri!You make me smile!Since terrible accident I spend alot of time in bed in the dark.Im blessed w an apartment and balcony high up overlooking the river Fergus and wild fields.What I love is the simplicity of your Blessings and Rituals.I notice alot of pressure on internet for witchy paraphernalia! Breathtaking scenery, beautiful Terri, Inspirational and uplifting. Not only are your herbal teachings healing, you are healing my injuries to mind, body and soul with your weekly videos....this one in particular. I watched the link you put below about Juliette de Baïracli Levy's life. My oh my. What a treasure you have gifted all who watch your videos. Just when I was in the dark night of the soul, facing what I was afraid would be pain and the inability to garden this spring, when I turn 79, along comes inspiration from you, dear Terri. I found a place to purchase elderberry twigs to grow, and 3 hawthorn bushes after your video. Now to find where I can purchase Rosemary. I now have something to look forward to....as I must be restored to be able to walk, sit, stand and work without pain, be straight again, to plant my veggies and tend what I already have, along with start my new bushes & seeds into pots and garden boxes. Imbolc is my favourite day in our witch celebrations. Although we have loads of snow here in the Yukon, Canada and definitely no flowers (in May) the sun light is getting stronger and the days are noticeable longer. It's coyote baby season here. Been keeping my fur babies in lately because of it. Been very cold here lately, just recently switched to mild and very wet. Makes everything soggy. Haven't been doing much gardening or garden preparation. Though this upcoming week I am going to be switching a flower bed around. Moving the bulbs to another area and rethinking the bed thereafter. I added some lovely oak limbs to my altar, our yard and woods are loaded with red, white and black oak. Been kinda celebrating Imbolc already with music and candle burning. Was going to look at my local shop for either a snowdrop or crocus or dandelion to add to my altar before the 1st. Here in Missouri it's closer to mid Feb before the one's in my garden sprout. But, with that said, some signs of Brigid and spring are here. A pair of blue birds have taken up nesting in a new bird house I hung on my grapes. They are our state bird. 💙🩵💙 I love the idea of blessing the tools. I forget about things like that. Love your videos.

Thank you for another delightful video! Here in the eastern US the wheel of the year is turning too, at the 3rd week of January the birds suddenly "wake up" and sing constantly now. In another month or so the daffodils and crocuses will push up. You are also inspiring me to put away my Christmas decorations, it's time to move on with the year.

Oh the weather looks so inviting there…I look out my window and snow and slush envelope the landscape and the trees are still dusted in frost……Imbolc has always been one of my favorite turns on the wheel…. As much as I truly love Winter, the waiting has begun…but we’ll have another 3 months at least of cold & cooler weather until Spring really shows itself. Have a good Imbolc.

Sonas ort Terri and Lol! What spectacular vistas! I am ever grateful for this sharing and inspiration. My partner and I have long celebrated Feb 2 So learning about Brigid is now a perfect expansion with new Earth connections. I will certainly now open the garden shed as a new ritual and see my tools as the true gifts they are.

Much Love to you, Terri❤ Wonderful sharing of Imbolc with us, thank you. I wiil be lovingly tending to my gardening tools from small clippers, to pitchforks and wheelbarrow tomorrow. They are qll in need of derusting, sharpening, oiling and yes admiringly too. Yet with your insights and inspiration I will be blessing them with holy water from our lake and anointing them, as we still have several more snowcovered months here at Lake Tahoe. Thank you for another beautiful video and interesting info, Terri. I had never heard of Imbolc. Surely inspiring and again, strengthening the bond we have with Mother Nature, reminding us to care and protect. Just like in the beginning of your previous video, this time you treated us to your wonderful and majestic landscape still slumbering in sumptuous Winter garments, kissed by golden sunlight that will slowly awaken it. Truly delightful sceneries and tones, paired with beautiful music! Loved it! I have been around my pots today, taking advantage of the nice sunny days. It felt good, but I do hope to still see some more of Winter - even if it is just one "bad" day . Many blessings, and a good start of your agricultural year! ❤❤

Have a wonderful time at your speaking engagements, Terri! Here in Ontario, there is a lot more winter to come but the parallel between weather lore associated with Imbolc is exactly the same for our Groundhog’s Day. If the day is cloudy, the groundhog will stay outside the burrow and play for awhile meaning Spring is on the way-sooner rather than later. (All things being relative, of course.). No daffodils and buds likely until April but I’m glad to see signs of spring in your lovely videos. Happy Imbolc. ❤

I just love your videos, thank you for sharing your beautiful home and wisdom with us. Where I live in northeastern Vermont, USA, this time of year is still solidly winter - not even the snowdrops really pop up until Ostara or later - so it's been a bit of a process for me to find aspects of Imbolc to celebrate that don't feel out of place here. I connect most to the returning light, to the warmth of the hearth, and to gratitude for the animals who provide so much of our food when the land is asleep. This year for the first time I have access to the loveliest fresh raw milk thanks to a neighbor with a dairy farm. Maybe I'll try making a fresh cheese or butter to mark the day. I love your idea to clean and bless your greenhouse and gardening tools! I may just have to do the same even though I can't really start any seedlings for awhile yet. Blessings to you :)
