I know how those types of kids are since, well, when I was his age I was identical. And here's the truth: he bases his entire personality on being quirky, since, from when he was born, he was most likely brought in a mentality that he was "different" and "gifted". I'm guessing he's also the teacher pet as well fairly arrogant, since, like I said, I saw that in myself when I was younger. While I'm not trying to compare my experiences to someone elses, I wouldn't be surprised if he grows out of his mentality once he reaches middle school and realizes being the "quirky boy" will only hurt you in the long run.
