Some of mine had a garage band. We played local bars and no one expected us to go beyond that level. We would do this song for Battle of the Bands. We always went first so our lack of talent wasn't so obvious. They always loved us. Most people who cover this song did it like Nascar. We did it like demolition derby.

what Imelda does is amazing and in no way is she going to change the stuff she loves to sing to get 'big' . for her its not about the fame its about the passion for music

I do understand what you are saying and I meant no disrespect, but it is painfully obvious to any pro musician worth their salt that this girl needs a massive crossover song to launch her to the next level and it will not be in this genre
No offence to my British, Irish, Scottish, or Aussie brothers & sis, I've always wondered why their singing accent is diff from their talking accent. Imelda May is hot to look at, but Mr. Rockabilly Guitar is THE star.
Great music, but her haircut, the stand-up bass, and the guitarists big hollow-body go a long way to create a distinctive impression. I was ready to like her before she started playing. This song has had quite a history.
Like I have always said, she needs to bust out and ditch this style , she is bigger than this, with the right songs she could be massive. But not clutching onto this style of music.
