Full Concert Playlist: • "Muse and the Music" L... Lindsay Mendez and Ryan Scott Oliver perform "Music and the Muse" at SubCulture, NYC August 29th, 2016 "Immaculate Deception" from 35mm by Ryan Scott Oliver Filmed by Nessie Nankivell
As someone who lived in NYC and know a lot about the "concept" or "idea" of 42nd st (not just the location and what it is) and film photography, the lyrics' metaphors, double meanings (or triple) is... deceptively immaculate. Already knew about David LaChapelle. But looked more into Greta Garbo and Ginger Rogers and oh man, what a crazy writing I have no words to describe how clever and brilliant it all is. Truly genius. Deceptively Immaculate.
Honestly, I feel ya. I've heard folks talk about "Mama, Let Me In" being beautiful but it creeps me out so much. This song's more of a case of mood whiplash for me, but I can totally get why this is creepy for you sometimes.
@@briannarhine6599 I mean, the song is about a prostitute who is brutally killed and then the people in the song are totally chill about it and just like “hey, look at the cool photo!” They don’t care at all about the dead person. It’s kind of chilling.
@@amanday3103 actually, the prostitute doesn't get killed. The second verse is a different scenario, now talking about a literal rat that gets beheaded by a train. The prostitute from the first verse just ripped her skirt.
