Immigration advocates push back against Biden executive order

President Biden's executive order that would temporarily block migrants from seeking asylum after crossings reached 2500 a day is facing more backlash. Some immigration advocates are pushing back by providing workshops that pair asylum seekers with attorneys to help them apply for work permits.

That guy fled Colombia? I lived there. Tons of Americans are moving in and retiring there. Medellin is a paradise. Colombia is not at war, he may not have been happy with his salary but that is not a reason to flee and seek asylum here. These people are just making this stuff up.

Columbia is becoming a nice place. My cousin retired in Columbia at age 50 while renting out his home in us. That’s all he needs to never have to work a day more in his life. Now he just goes to the gym everyday instead of going to the office.

Sure we can take these people in but first we'll need to revoke all work permit programs and pass a law to jail the board of any corporation using these people as slave labor. Mandatory 20 year minimum for all board members. You know, so we can make sure this isn't all about cheap slaves in the name of good will.

In the name of multiculturalism, we end up getting a lot of people that don't care about multiculturalism; they just want more of their own culture. Excess migrants coming in has a direct impact on low-income jobs and housing. You can't have higher minimum wage and affordable housing if there's a tsunami of workers willing to work those jobs at the current rate. It's basic supply and demand; if there's a large supply of workers, wages can't go up. If there's a lot of demand for housing, rent and home prices can't be affordable. And then there's the cultural issue; most of these people do not care about announcing their pronouns, trans issues, climate change, pride flags; they are deeply religious and unwilling to change.
