Im not from UK but visiting the country it feels like I'm in some middle-eastern country... How does a country allow for itself to loose it's heritage and culture in such a horrible and rapid way?!?

I've always been very positive about immigration, but after what I've seen in the UK in recent years I've been turned off immigration for life Immigration has divided us and created so much negativity. It is a lie that we need immigrants. I'm now, for the first time in my life, totally against immigration. It's simply not worth the hassle.

It's not a problem when you have ,say , point 1 maximum of the population as immigrants. The problem has come from decades of more and MORE ! Such that chunks of cities feel like foreign countries. Alien customs and religions come in and make the original population feel uneasy. Plus the lack of integration makes even more fear and division. Especially when you get demonstrations calling for beheading of anyone who speaks out.... IT IS NOT A RACE THING, IT IS A SPACE THING. We don't hate ANYone. But our hospitality is being stretched too far...... We struggled for many centuries to make a civilised country.... Is it better now than in the 1950's? We weren't fearful then....... This is a small island, and we are vastly overcrowded. 1000per square mile in England is a disaster for the future, and no wonder we have fear : The STATED Intention is to conquer us by out-breeding us. Isn't that a charming way to be thanked for accommodating 7 million 'extras' since 1997 ?

Our tiny island is overcrowded. House prices are now out of reach for most people,our NHS even before Covid struggled to cope as do our schools and infra structure.Our roads are full to bursting as are our towns and cities. One side effect of huge immigration is that many Brits are now left in areas where they are very much in the minority in that part of the town.Consequently they experience loneliness as they are often the only English speakers in that street.Corner shops they used either shut down or change hands and sell food they don't eat but the immigrants prefer. No one seems to speak up for those stuck in such circumstances,and if you do,you are labelled a racist.Many are in the generation that fought for our freedom in WW2, and it's a disgrace they've been treated so shabbily.

Why must a country risk destroying itself for those who don’t care if they destroy the country?

Having a country which is ever more socialist and taxes the native population to provide socialist benefits like free healthcare and the welfare state, and then opening borders to the entire world...it's just idiotic and will quickly become a race to the bottom. I say we let people put their money where their mouth is, if you want the borders open then let's calculate the tax increase we'll need to support unchecked immigration and lets exclusively tax those people who support it, so only they are paying for that decision, and not those people who oppose it. In the long run socialism has to go and we need to become a capitalistic country where peoples standards of living are correlated with their contributions to the market, then the people wanting to move to the UK won't be millions of poor people looking to scrounge off benefits, but free marketeers who want to provide value to everyone else and make a good living for themselves. More freedom, more liberty and more quality living for everyone who can live peacefully together with us.

What is happening in some European countries today is demographic colonisation.

The Rate of immigration makes all the difference. Imagine. If the rate of immigration is so high that 55% of Britain is made up of New Citizens from say China. Then, Britain would have lost its identity. If only 5% are new citizens, then these would not be able to dominate Britain identity. If 55%, native brits would have become a minority. In a democracy, majority rules. Then, the native brits would have to assimilate with the majority Chinese brits. Not the other way round. British identity would then be lost forever because these new citizens are here to stay.

Bring them in, but no citizenship (ever) - not for them or their children. Only residency visas which must be renewed. And after a certain term, no more renewals. Pretty much like the Gulf countries.

The title given to this video (and ditto the one with Douglas Murray) is misleading, presumably deliberately. That was not the argument. The motion was "postwar Britain has seen too much immigration". Not at all the same thing.

In 2021 the national opinion has evolved. We don't just want a stop to immigration. We need a fully supported repatriation system no matter how long you've been living here. A third, second, first generation migrant it doesn't matter. It needs to be positivly encouraged and financially backed for all none natives.

I don't understand for the life of me, why any native British people think that we should have any immigration at all. A few people from neighbouring countries maybe, who don't need to become citizens, or have the rights of citizens, could live in Britain, so that free trade could be assisted. Why would we even be interested in hearing the opinions of a "fellow English person" about nationality and nation. In a proper market economy any labour shortages would automatically be compensated for by changes in relative wages. The people most interested in opening Britain or any other successful nation to mass immigration, are those who are very often immigrants themselves, who only see our countries as "economic spaces" to be consumed and abused as they think fit. 99% of British people don't benefit at all from immigration, unless you think it so important to have Indian or Chinese restaurants. Even these could be offered by entrepreneurial Brits. Throughout history only defeated peoples allowed their countries to be settled by people from other cultures. What has already happened only makes sense if you consider the politicians as stooges of foreign industrial and banking interests.

It is unfair to allow immigration from countries so poor that living three to a room and earning 300 pounds a week is a wet dream to those people. It means ultimately that British workers would have to suffer the same conditions in order to compete. I am sick of hearing about how Polish people do the jobs we are not willing to do. Their money goes FIVE times as far in Poland. Imagine if you could work in an open door county for five times the wage. You'd also be willing to live three to a room for five years, save up, move back home and buy a house. AND YOU'D DO IT. I don't in any way blame the Poles themselves. They absolutely are doing the right thing under the circumstances, for themselves and for their families. But when this country IS your home, that option of buying a house in Poland is not available and so you cannot compete. Immigration has fucked the working classes up the arse. I'm the son of an immigrant and have a posh background. But by God I have the consideration to have the highest respect for the working class, and I have no respect for anyone who does not appreciate how hard they work.

Yeah, and instead of flippin arguing about this, we should be thoroughly examining how our society is fundamentally creating the reasons that compel people to immigrate! You think people want to risk losing their lives and families drowning in the North Sea because UK social welfare and quality of life is so good? How about the social-political disruption caused in the middle east due to imperialist geo-strategic positioning around oil? How about UK arms manufacturers (4th in the world, last time I checked) that profit from political instability and war in the middle east? Or farm industry multinationals turfing rural farmers off land in India, Indonesia, Africa, or South America? Or mining companies doing the same? etc. etc. And propping the whole thing up? It's us and our consumer behaviour, feeding this beast so we can waste our time and energy obtaining obtaining so much that is unecessary for our happiness, well-being, and distracts us from ourselves and a meaningful life. Where are our politicians and political will to stem these primary drivers of mass immigration in the world? Oh, wait, politician's and the ruling class's bread is buttered by these very same imperial interests... I know, let's convince people it's immigrants to blame...

I always find it interesting how one of the primary arguments for immigration is bringing skills into the country, yet the argument is never ''why can't we do more for our own citizens so we don't require that crutch to begin with?" Even with working class jobs the white working class British community seems one of the most neglected, and how much potential is wasted there? Feels a bit of a cop out and is essentially saying ''we give up on our own people". I work in a Hospital - so believe me, I see the absolute peak positives of immigration, and have a great working relationships with all my colleagues. Yet I know that isn't the same experience the working class have had with immigration (enclaves where you can go a whole day without interacting with a 'native' Brit/huge demographic shifts in areas over a short space of time, lower educated immigrants/more prone to extremist or outdated beliefs, less likely to want to integrate, less likely to view their host country positively, etc). Despite my own current positive experiences, I still feel the best course of action would be getting the most out of the current population (or would have been, the Rubicon has been crossed already) before allowing others in. It's like decorating your house with flashy appliances while the foundations are crumbling, and expecting it not to topple over. I genuinely believe to get the 'most' out of a country and population some degree of civic nationalism has to occur. When you import elements who treat you as a stepping stone, lack desire to embrace all the quirks and traditions, even at some expense of their own, or frankly don't really care to be here to begin with, that further damages the foundations. Has it all been worth it, considering the tensions from both sides of the fence? I wouldn't be shocked if a biological hard-coded distrust of 'the others' is still prevalent, which causes all of this wasted energy to be expelled on our current PC culture and tensions. Would countries be better off more homogenized, but working together peacefully globally? That would also have a knock on effect of eliminating brain drain, a real problem when your brightest leave, and that's not exclusive to Africa/Middle East etc - even from EU countries like Poland. We see tensions in other regions and the problems that arise (and a lack of fulfilling potential) blamed on the arbitrary drawing of borders, especially by the "imperialist West", mixing various religions, ethnic groups, tribes, etc, yet fail to see the same thing happening in our own countries as having a potential knock on effect. Agreed, it's not a 1:1 analogy, but even so.

Then they brought their families and relatives and did not assimilate with the native populous, but instead brought more wives and husbands for their children from India. They introduced business when the Ugandans had mostly been bartering. They worked long hours and began to take over. Idi Amin saw this and ejected them from the country. in 1968 Enoch Powell warned of the same thing, unassimilated migration and high fertility rates. Unlike Idi Amin we took in more and more of everyone and now we are a multicultural catastrophe. I would suggest this country has seen far too much immigration than Godfrey suggests going right back to Windrush.

What twaddle. The country is not being concreted over and is not full. Our population density is 600 per square mile and similar to other European countries. The real problem is that many immigrants do not come here to work. Of a certain group. over 50% of men and 80% of women of working age are unemployed. Not only do they not contribute to society, but they also demand we change our laws to the ones in the countries they came from, so they are not here to escape oppression either.

we do not need to scrap the welfare state to control immigration. we need to control immigration by need of skills and we need a much closer link between business and education to ensure they harmonise so that we train british people to have the skills for our future. a free roaming market force economy, especially without a welfare safety net is a dangerous ideology and has existed before in our country until after the second world war when the free marketeers the likes of GBloom realised if they did not agree to a more social society they might have a society that would rebel against them,

So the solution is to dissolve welfare then. Any true libertarian would see that the issue should be to destroy the insensitive for those to move here to take advantage of the welfare state. This isn't just labours issue from the nineties this is a perpetual issue of trying to blend socialist and capitalist policies, we keep immigration open in order to increase growth and the consumer base, but we also give these immigrants the benefit of social welfare, it's fundamentally a contradiction of policy. Perpetual immigration wouldn't matter or be a issue to many people if it simply wasn't for the deficit that is created by having an open door policy. End the socialist experiment and the immigration problem will evaporate.
