I think labour will win but Reform will be a surprise. I think Legal immigrants will be fine for now but depending on how badly Labour will perform in the future (lets not kid ourselves they are also.part of the problem) things might get shakey in the not too distant future and Legals should seriously consider Canada as plan B cos going back to freaking Africa is NOT an option.

@@kapesh344 No they won't. First of all Canada's immigration system is targeted for skilled immigration. They don't try to hide it. They are proud of it. Second Canada is an extremely difficult place to get to illegally. They are separated by 3 oceans and a powerful neighbor to the south. Unlike Europe that is geographically close to Africa and the middle east combined with the policy of European politicians deliberately wanting legal and illegal immigrants there. So except one pretends to be an asylum seeker which they encounter similar problems in the UK of being unable to work fully for a long time during when the asylum claim is being processed, one is better of using the various legal ways of immigration to go to Canada. So basically all the illegal immigrants and criminal and rape gangs and terrorists cannot easily find their way to Canada unlike Europe which again is closer to the middle east where the problematic migrants come from. Finally the current issues plaguing Canada is inflation (which is global) and housing shortage. They housing shortage is artificial and has been there for decades. The problem is that the few home owners like that their property prices are appreciating due to shortage and keep voting for politicians who limit the expansion of houses which will create availability of housing causing the price to go down. It was sustainable due to the low numbers of immigrants going over there but due to the rapid increase in the past 8 to 10 years or so due to the need for a new pool of taxpayers because the boomers are in their 70s and can no longer work full time, the housing has suddenly become difficult. As it stands the liberals (Justin Trudeaus party) like the Tories and labour in the UK are just as unpopular and are on their way out. The conservative party under the leadership of Piere Pouilievre has put housing is one of his priorities and will solve it. So Canada is a different animal all together and cannot be as bad as Europe.

To those saying the UK problems will be exported to Canada, my response. Canada is the next best destination. 3 reasons. 1 it's bigger than the British Isles with a smaller population and enough room for growth. 2. It is strategically located. It is far away from Asia and Africa and has the U.S as a buffer zone for South America and as a result illegal immigrants HAVE TO make the conscious decision to specifically go there mainly using the US as a landing spot before seeking asylum in Canada. The asylum process is just as limited in the UK. Work restrictions and such. As a result all the crime and terrorism we see in Europe is absent in Canada because the middle east is far away from Canada. 3. Canada's current problems of inflation and housing shortage are man made. Trudeau is on his way out and the next in line Pierre Pouilievre has been consistent in his criticisms to the artificial scarcity of housing and has profered solutions. Basically the housing shortage is due to house owners repeatedly voting politicians who limit the construction of new homes, making the limited amount of existing homes ridiculously expensive. Pierre Pouilievre will remove those restrictions and housing will be available afterwards. The jobs market too is due to regulatory meddling requiring "Canadian experience" which is certification certification and more certification protecting Canadians (mostly government workers) at the expense of new arrivals. This unnecessarily hostile environment causes Canada to lose talent to the US. Pouilievre will address this as well. So yes I stand by what I say. People in the UK should make contingency plans for relocation to Canada.
