That's a good one.. lol Dude have you ever seen them live..? Robert Vigna fucking man handles his guitar he throws his guitar neck around when he's doing this pinch harmonics. ... He's a true maniac live.. love these guys..
I saw these guys live in Belgium somewhere around 91,92 I guess after the Dawn Of Possession release. The days where you could still stage dive. Great guys.
i remember seeing immolation on the atonement tour, at jaxx or empire, whatever it was called at the time. it's cool that nuclear blast is reissuing it 15 years later. it's one of the better immolation albums, next to their debut and failures for gods in my opinion.
cant help to notice that Immolation music has elements of nu-metal, and slam oriented riffs that sound more croud pleasing mallcore than anything. Been on DM and BM since 91.. so this 'modern' or supposedly "progressive" sound ..... sissy... then and now. Of course Ross and Bob can do whatever they want, No problem with that.
Slam and core bands are the ones taking these old riffs for the modern crap, not the other way around. That being said, the problem with Immolation is that every album since the 2000s sounds the same. Always the same progression and style; Riff into pinch harmonic into melodic tremolo part into repetition into pinch harmonics. People call CC repetitive but at least you instantly know to which album their songs belong because they know how to keep their style while still bringing the fresh songs
