if using a controller, turn on vibration. when it vibrates, swing to time combo correctly. not all vibrations cause there are multihits in some swings. but you'll know when to by the animations. once you get the pattern and feeling down, you can do it with eyes closed.
100% this. I can do Siegfried’s combo perfectly with zero thought and I usually am awful at this. The vibration was the key to initial steps in mastering it.
I was thinking the same thing. Visual clutter doesn't matter because you can tell based off the vibration timings when to press. Same with Zeta, so I keep vibration on for this game
You can trigger link attack mid-combo and then your next square or triangle (if you're about to finish the combo) is sure to hit no timing needed. It's like a bonus for triggering the link attack so no need to ignore link attack prompts.
I was skeptical of picking up Siegfried due to his timing mechanic, but honestly it's not that hard to master. And now he is my main 🔥. So satisfying to land Perfect Execution

I decided to grab Siegfried since another video said his AI is actually really good at hitting the perfect combos frequently and has some pretty damn good team-support buffs available as well. Now I'm considering using him as a main that I interchange with Ferry depending on who I want to use that day. Also, his armor and drip reminds me of Artorias from Dark Souls, so I'm hella down with having him as a main.
Did you know you can buffer the perfect execution by rolling, with the improve dodge sigil you can roll a maximum of 6 times to reposition and then perform the perfect execution
I quite literally figured this out 10 minutes ago by accident in training. Just randomly launched some huge slam attack after dodging and was like "wut?" and then found out how it worked so yea.
Other commenters have mentioned dodge/link/lunge to continue combo so ill touch on other things. Stam 30 and tyranny 30 are overkill to cap with your awakened term wep. Stam 15 and tyranny 15 is more than enough. Perfect execution has huge end delay so you'll want to dodge or use uwe as soon as you touch the ground.
The triangle combo finisher can be spammed. You don't need to perfect time that one. As long as the rest of the combo was perfect feel free (and honestly I advise you) to mash that triangle button!
I had a hard time getting his combo to register. But I saw someone else show the trick. When his sword hits the center of the target launch your next attack. It works great
I prefer using Improved Guard stacking on him, a lot of his mastery passives lean towards increasing guard so much it's a waste not to leverage it. Blocking the hardest attacks in the game while everyone runs and dodges for dear life is the best feeling imo. You can also perfect guard and heal yourself every time for maximum Stamina attack.
For correct timing inputs on combo (to include link attack): push square as soon as these attacks *finish* connecting, then hit triangle as soon as the *last* hit of the last combo attack connects.
Love Siegfried, been using him so much it feels really awkward switching to other characters because my muscle memory is so used to the perfectly timed attacks
This isn't my main account so I'm probably not going to read replies but from my experience the timing on the attacks is right when the attack hits maybe 1/3 of a sec after and it hits perfect everytime. I used to wait for a bit after the attack too but it failed a lot, ever since i changed to clicking when the attack hits i never fail unless the attack misses.
I love how ya showcasing black dragon instead of the super easy and brain afk red dragon that most people are using as a showcase....perfectly shows that even if ya got nice sigils and dps you still have to do some sort of dodging in order to survive xd black dragon was the first enemy that i learned this the hard way (always face tanked proud till this fight) for me this is the most annoying boss to fight...i loved playing siegfried (played pso2 so the timings are no issue since im used to that playstyle) till i switched to vane for actual brain afkness....but after seeing this vid i feel like going back to the roots
I love Siegfried. He was my first toon to max the terminus weapon. Then I played percival, percival is soo much easier on fights where the camera is your enemy (proto baha camera I hate u).
If you're not putting both Nelah Nav and Verdrängen on your bar, you should always take Nelah over the latter. It has a shorter CD, easily does 3-4x the damage, and does multiple ticks of massive stun damage, while the def down is largely irrelevant once you've already hit damage cap.
2:40 what? when your strike connects you press the button... that's all it is, unless you miss then you press it just before return to neutral stance. When dodge canceling to continue or accelerate to Perfect Exe, which you didn't even touch on.... is just before your feet touch the ground.
Realy good would be if you can get a Supplementdamage V+ with Autorevive, so you could go down once without triggering Critical condition. And you should not Ignore Linkattacks, because you can continue your combo right as the Linkattack hits. even if you are in mid perfekt finisher, just hit the button again and you do it again.
As a pc player, the timing is focus on is at the end of the swing. The only issue is that the timing differs depending on if you hit the target or not since there is a split second pause on contact with a target. However, practice made this easier.
His lunge isn't just a gap closer. You can mix in his lunge atk in between his perfect atk combo (which doesn't interrupted it), and mix them up all the way up until his perfect execution. Also, link atks and perfect dodging do not interrupt his perfect combo. Siegfried's combo is mad flexible with no real penalties. Especially when you have Stoutheart or Flight over Fight sigils. You've playing Siegfried wrong if all you do is spam the combo and then lunge for the perfect execution. You're cheating yourself out of mad dps because if you lunge in between each hit you double his combo and the dps of the combo.
I felt like Sieg was strong AF up until Maniac/Proud. Even with terminus weapon in proud, he gets outperformed by the majority of my crew--even with perfect timing, sigils, link-cancelling the finisher, etc. Super fun to play, but I can't seem to make him feel as absolutely busted as yoda, narmaya, eugen, rackam, io.
I took off most of my dps sigils, yet im still hitting the same amount without them. damage caps hard on sig. I suggest experimenting by taking off those tyranny sigils, and shoot for more utility or defensive sigils.
Im so confused as to why people are using tyranny? You can easily hit damage cap with a single combo booster sigil, even with the increased cap from catastrophe, all you need is another combo booster or stamina. Why run needless damage increases when you are already hitting cap?
What sword imbue did you use? im struggling to find one that fits my needs since I gotten comically unlucky getting terminus weapon drops. Also noticed you have 9 dmg cap but +60 i have 10 with plus +55 but Im using and extra sigil. Wondering where you gained that from.
Don't think Siegfried is very good. He attacks slow, meaning link time dmg is low. His strongest hitting attack ( perfect combo finisher) needs a full window of damage opportunity to be used. This is a huge drawback as the time he takes to deal His max dmg is long netting you slow dps. This changed when enemy's move away from you mid combo, losing the chain and having to restart. Too many drawbacks for him to be a top tier character
@@KrayZee33 taken all of that into account. But it's still prolongues how long it takes for him to deal His max dmg output. Whereas other dps characters can freely deal their max the moment they make contact.
@@nanashiryuu5630On paper maybe, but I've been consistently hitting 15m honors minimum on proud quests with him easily whereas other characters can fall off pretty hard with just the slightest variable (twitchy teammate/ enemy). And this is from a pure dps build whereas other characters tend to have CC/ support skills that jacks up contribution/ honor points. You're not wrong in that Sieg takes a bit to hit his possible max output. That said, his damage from normal attacks in reaching his possible max is consistently high that so long as you're glued to the enemies and is half decent with perfect execution, it's a nonissue entirely. Hitting 130k+ in most cases with perfect execution per hit before supplementary damage procs and with how everything he does (dodges, etc) buffers the combo while letting us reposition, it's hella easy to hit the finishers.
Focus on surviving first and getting used to new attacks in Proud. Bring 1 sigil of Autorevive, Guts, Potion Hoarder, Aegis, Improved Dodge, etc. Guarding is pretty safe for single non-debuffing attacks even in the last fight to farm Terminus weps. Awaken ur Ascension weapon too

@@DrHankVenture not much besides dodging once while attacking to gapclose and continue your combo. I usually bring a gap-close skills on my characters too. Other than that it's positioning urself depending on who ur playing & fighting. Oh and locking on the "body" of the monster helps if you are not going for the head.
Like @bittersuet was saying, it kind of depends who you're playing, but gap closing skills (or even regular attacks that lunge) are going to be key. I'm adjusting to this myself. Wiffed a SBA for the first time yesterday... "Ah, that's some bullshit." Something that I found helpful was inflicting slow on the boss. I've been playing Id and he has Arcadia in Dragon Form. It's a considerable decrease in movement speed, so they can't get far enough away before your attacks connect. Basically, it's an extra Break you can throw in to dish out some burst damage. Gran, Vaseraga and Ferry also can inflict slow, but I'm not sure how reliable the AI would be on using it.
@@Shin_Lona I never considered slow being another break, but it makes sense considering the window you get to dps after that. I need to be more efficient with my gap closer. I had been playing Percival, then swapped to Lancelot when I pulled his double sigil in my transmarvel. I might go back to Percy because his range is better on this attacks, but I prefer the move set on Lancelot.
You’re actually missing the second move the most frequent. If you miss any part of the full combo you won’t finish it. Example in this video you miss the very first perfect or second swing and it doesn’t matter how many perfects you get after that you won’t get the finisher combo. Great video though
I like him but he seems like his damage is too low for how much work and effort it takes to always hit those perfect executions. But idk maybe he is stronger than I think but his damage output just seems lower compared to a lot of other characters.
His dps is a bit lower than the fast attacking characters but not by much, he excels at gap closing and sticking to enemies and his attacks builds a lot of stun, he is a really good balance of attack and defense
Yea I will have to build him and try him out. But just felt like I was getting more out of other characters. But i do love his mobility and the fact you can tank through so much stuff. Pretty cool character I need to try him more.@@takaharamaragara1392
Almost 70 hours into the game and still no Supplementary damage sigil. How do I get them? I have been farming relics, tickets and Terminus weapons a lot and get 2 War elemental sigils, but no Supplementary damage yet :/
stun weapon is best. till you get the 6th weapon. getting stuns off fast and often is so important in the hardest fights. if your not stunning them during there overdrive with 100% link, your making it harder
Maybe it's me but I find Uwe to be redundant considering the lunge attack. You might be able to do more damage with it than the lunge, but is that an issue with the damage cap?
It's not just extra damage, it also counts as the first attack of the square combo (using perfect execution goes straight to the 2nd swing) so you're skipping one step to get to the harder hits. It's also really strong to spam during link time.
@@espo_lou Yeah, and I also forgot that it also is a really good way to cancel out of the animation of the final charged hit. Land, Uwe and straight to hit 2 of the next combo.
Could, but not likely. Vas' bulk of damage comes from his charged heavy/ finishers so it's tricky to consistently beat out Sieg's dps since enemies tend to move so often. Assuming your party consists of Zeya/ Eugen who can paralyze, Lancelot with freeze, or any kind of crowd control, it's more than possible to slightly out dps Sieg with Vas. In most cases though, a half decent Sieg main who can nail perfect execution at least 75% of the time will out dps Vas with similar "gear/ power level".
for late game the sigil guide is completely wrong, my sieg hits max damage cap without any extra damage sigils, tyranny and stamina are pointless in that respect
i dont like char like him to play, cuz this bosses are so annoying when it comes to movility, they move so much that you can barely keep up with the combos and even you lost his combos, i think in statics bosses like proto bahamut he shine, but well i need to be better with so many chars.
i'd argue that siegfried is one of the best gap closer characters but overall in the roster of characters he is one of the weakest by ALOT unfortunately but yeah his right mb attack is a lunge that goes pretty far
I use L'hier Verdrangen Salvator and Mirage the def + drain makes me and my party invincible i dont run any heals made a party of Sieg Lance Vane and Percival party is unstoppable melt bosses especially with linked together sigils on all of them.
