Keep going man, i thought the same thing, but first youll get the "laser thing" and then a few missions after youll get the "refract spell" which lets you do these puzzles with the eyes and crystals in the statue hands. Lots of places to revisit if thats your thing, have fun. Progress through the main quest to obtain said items.
