For someone the size of Kong, she runs a really good, fast tempo, she's a gifted wrestler, I can see why she and Gail always stole the show and were some of TNA's cash cows
TBH, Awesome Kong was doing much longer matches in Japan while keeping the same fast tempo. She even said in interviews that she went to American Wrestling because the matches are much shorter, lighter schedule (in between matches).
The Gail Kim/Awesome Kong rivalry was some of the best storytelling I've ever seen in women's wrestling, I was sad to see this rivalry come to an end, I wonder where the story was going to go once Gail's sister Katie Kim entered the picture. Man I loved everything their rivalry, Kong and Gail always brought the best out of each other in every match they had. Awesome Kong and Gail Kim's rivalry made me become an even bigger proud Women's wrestling fan.
This stuff is still better than what the WWE woman do today I hope IMPACT Wrestling knockouts return to this it made the matches as entertaining as the men matches
Awesome Kong and Gail Kim are two of the greatest female wrestlers of all time! Joined later by two of the other greatest female wrestlers ever; Roxy and ODB!
How tf after the series of matches Gail had with Kong they would let her go is mindboggling. Gail, and Kong should have been center pieces of the show they single handed ignited the actual women's revolution. I was 17 when I first saw them and I was memorized that women were allowed to wrestle and be the most talked about parts of the show.
Gail wanted a pay rise (and she deserved it, she singlehandedly revitalized women's wrestling in the US thanks to her matches with Kong, women in wrestling were finally seen as equal to the men and the Knockouts were the highest rated segments every week on Impact), but TNA wouldn't give it to her. Then WWE lured her back with an offer that'd she be pushed straight away and be taken seriously, but we all know how that turned out...
@@ToyotaKudoFan WWE really said. "Nah, we meant like 3 weeks of that push, then have you lose your title shot that we built you up for in those 4 weeks, and after, be a jobber who loses most of the time, along with being portrayed as interchangeable.."
@@kandyperez9917 There was rumour that wwe already soured on gail kim just few weeks after her return because she didn't receive pop From fans as were expected by management and her "that match" with mickie james really killed her push
Gail. What makes her unique she is not afraid of taking an implant buster or awesome bomb like some other girls, she is talented performer and sexy at the same time. TNA had a really good cast of female wrestlers but all went to hell when Hogan and bishof came in reducing them to near no action in impact.
belle-bolingo Kd lmfao man this comment made me laugh hahaha... well I mean... things happen I guess.. her sister shouldn’t have run inside the ring then lol
Charlieboy Saldivar she was awesome! Got to meet her in 2007! I started watching TNA in 2006. The WWE had left a bad taste with me for wrestling honestly. They killed off their crusierweight division, the constant pornography they liked to show, the offensive stuff they constantly showed, the burying of talented wrestlers for bodybuilders, and the women’s wrestling was terrible. I honestly wasn’t a fan of wrestling anymore and my friends and family really just didn’t care to each it specially considering all the filth they loved to show but I was still interested in some of the girls, oddly was a big fan of Michelle McCool, Candice Michelle Jillian Hall Kristal Marshall Layla and Ashley Massaro as they showed promise of wrestling at the time. As well as Fit Finley Paul London and Brian Kendrick were pretty much the only reason to still watch WWE.. I came to TNA for Jeff Hardy, but stayed for AJ Styles!!! I got hooked on AJ and couldn’t get enough. Eventually TNA got into bringing lots of ex WWE guys and while it wasn’t bad it kind of lost that homegrown TNA feel. Even the X Division didn’t feel as intense. Then here is where Gail Kim comes into play. Watching her bust her ass every week in 2007 and just feeling her pure passion and aggression damn man! I couldn’t get enough of Gail Kim!!! I marked out for AJ Styles, Sting, and Gail Kim!!! Then getting the great news of a women’s championship for the Knockouts was just so perfect! When I met her I kind of .... ranted about how much she revived my passion for wrestling kind of like I’m doing now lol she was so sweet because she listened to me and didn’t like politely try to stop me she was like super sweet cool nerdy and chill. I was 20 at the time. I even wore the stupid necklace that AJ would wear that you’d buy at the malls lmao she saw how much I had genuine love respect and appreciation for her. She’s a badass in the ring and hope her body feels better I hope she is healthy enough for maybe one royal rumble entrance and hope Jeff Jarrett can make a deal with WWE and get her into the Hall of Fame. She deserves every piece of credit praise and any goodness in her life for her work for women’s wrestling and for TNA
@@solidsnakemgs2180 the womens division was grear till 2006 after that yeah it kinda sucked but melina, mickie, michelle and candice had some really good matches. I prefer the " offensive " stuff over today's storylines tho
Holy crap this was intense haha!!! Gail Kim and Awesome Kong conclude their rivalry. The action is nonstop hard hitting and unmatched! This is like watching Samoa Joe AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels! Just has that big fight feel to it! The ending was so disturbing haha and I love it! Katie Kim just made such a delicious prey for Kong and Saeed! The way Kong confidently held Katie hostage to escape Roxxi and ODB haha man TNA was so awesome! Gail Kim this was your last match before I got the test message from TNA Mobile conforming your release and departure, this confirmed all the rumors of you heading back ti WWE. I was legit sad when you left. You revived my passion for pro wrestling. Had not seen anyone or anything like you or your matches! TNA was Gail Kim Samoa Joe and AJ Styles!!
This is by far my favorite Gail Kim Match Ever! Thank you soo much for upload it, i saw this one years ago and when i wanted to watch it again i couldn't find any link. Thanks again
Ilove how the tna creative's did well build up storyline, characters development for this match ...having the audience to emotionally invest into the match by having Gail Kim sister at ring side. .
I met Gail Kim at a comic convention. I asked who her favorite person to work with was. She said Awesome Kong. I was shocked given their size difference. Gail said Kong knows her stuff and how to hit her spots to prevent injury. It was not the answer I expected, but it was a cool discussion and revealing to know the importance of working with wrestlers that hit spots and know how to keep each other safe. Didn't hurt that Gail is extremely easy on the eyes. Especially in person!
Alex Confidence but she brought the money for TNA and she was actually well respected by the Knockouts, she even cites Gail for being the best opponent she’s ever had and the one who makes her awesome.
Is TNA always like yhis? This was badass. A story well written and presented wonderfully by Gail and Kong. If this happens every week, I might start watching.
When will gail kim learn that the chances of beating awesome kong is slim to none. Awesome kong is leathal dangerous and the awesome bond is deverstating
Honestly, anyone would've thought what match if they didn't know who Gail Kim was. Only Gail Kim can put up a good match with Awesome Kong. Gail Kim may have lost the match, but she proved that she could take on any one and she is not just a wrestler!
Oh yeah, Gail ended up leaving TNA like right after this match, and signed back with WWE. A decision I'm sure she still regrets because she wasted like 3 years there.
TV247 not just the waste of time the waste of emotional energy. She wasn’t happy in WWE. She had a somewhat good run on Smackdown with Michelle McCool Alicia Fox and Melina but when she hit traded to Raw it was all downhill!!
Gail has said she will never go back to WWE. There is serious bad blood between Gail Kim and WWE, and after the way WWE recently treated Mickie James and Molly Holly, there is NO way Gail Kim will show up in WWE. Gail Kim also has a high management role in Impact.
