In this Urdu episode, Uzair talks to Dr. Ali Hasanain about the types of corruption, how they impact Pakistan's political economy, and ways in which reform measures can be implemented to address corruption in society.
Dr. Ali Hasanain is an Associate Professor and the Head of the Economics Department at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). Dr. Hasanain’s research focuses primarily on how public service delivery can be improved through reform initiatives, particularly through technological progress and improvements in the media. He also studies how information and communication technologies (ICT) can improve market functioning.
At LUMS, he teaches courses on the economics of the media, corruption, markets, and the law. He is also the Pakistan country coordinator (and one-time participant) of the South Asian Economics Students Meet.

Loved it. I saw your discussion with Junaid Akram about extractive corruption in Bangladesh, do you think we have that here in Pakistan as well?

Dr Ali Hasanain was hands down my favorite professor in LUMS. A knowledgeable, smart and dedicated individual, and most importantly a very kind person (though not an easy grader!)

They should only cover India with respect to Pakistan and what Pakistan can do better, otherwise there's no point making comparisons.

Very nice explanation by Dr Hasanain. Thank you Uzair for bringing this to public and also letting Professor explain things without interruption. Also thanks for asking the guests about interesting books.

Good debate but unnecessarily long. Dr. Ali must develop the ability to concise his thought and then deliver instead of representating it as a class room lecture.

This is a boring childish discussion. Apologies, because I do not intend to be rude, but I expected better from an assumed expert. He needs to get out more, self interest, and interest groups are part of a democratic system. Those can be organised or electrol based. This discussion is simple to the point of lazy intellectualism.

@@hswpg6423 if you're going to reply, try substance, rather than slighting remarks, it's very unbecoming and childish. I gave valid reasons as to why, either provide a basis opposing my reason's or remain quiet, it makes you look silly. All you Pakistanis can ever do is cry, cry and cry some more, rather than give valid arguments, please develop some self respect.
