I just had the most amazing idea for a theory about why there is a garden on top of impel down. To collect the fruits of the dying prisioners. They die and the power is tranfered to the closes fuit of the type right? if the prision is in the middle of the ocean and they have a garden with many different types of fruits, impel down becomes a devil fruit extraction machine.
So if Ace was in level 6 and his data base was redacted why did they proceed to execute him on live TV and then announce his dad is Gol d. Roger.....smart
Lunacy's Straightjacket The execution was a show of power, first we killed Rodger now were killing his son and the commander of the 2nd division of the whitebeard pirates who's captain is the strongest man in the world. so for ace think of it as a holding cell
@@nobody5093 no I get that😂 but if your going to erase their existence then why execute them on live TV and then tell the whole world on live tv with news editors seeing it. I'm preeeeetttty sure people won't forget that shit and will tell their kids for a looooong time that's my point lol
they dont all get executed only the one that can show of the world governments power, like ace. they had no plans to publicly execute every level 6 inmate.
Oil rigs are massive machines on wheels. They drive out to the spot, then set the breaks and drop the collapsed equipment down where it is locked into place then begin drilling. They’re built on land and driven out into the sea.
They take them out on a big barge. Or a big rig boat. They don't drive out there. I inspected one of the barges they use it's called versa bar... It cuts them off at the legs and moves them around.. Once you get so deep they don't anchor to the ground like that. floating platforms that are monitored by a computer system in the hull of the rig that keeps track of the water current and air movement that use thrusters to keep position through their dynamic positioning system.
Floating rigs work fine in calm water when in rough water they can sway a lot. Deep water drilling in rough seas such as in the North sea or the Barents sea can not be done like that. They stand on concrete pillars that go all the way down to the sea floor. Those rigs usually have several wells linked to it made by drilling sideways and are usually much larger. Most can last decades with some in the North sea being over 40 years old and still in operation. Thing is though making them stand on concrete pillars like that is hideously expensive so it's only done if there is no other choice. That you need to have a permanent rig in an area that is almost certain to get a full on storm.
From a technical standpoint the divine comedy la commendia in Italian written in old Italian. Those books are the greatest achievements in poetry and lectures Dante wrote always each single line with 11 syllables and those entire three books there he kept always rhyming with a precise and constant rhyming scheme to represent the progression of marching one step after the other step ABC BCD CDE DEF EFG .... till the end of the 3 books Always 11 syllables and rhymes In some sections he would add middle rhymes in the middle of consecutive lines There are also many double or triple entendre And all of this telling a story describing and world building out of his imagination and picking up some historical events and others references
Saurav Raj I meant Epic Poetry sorry. The Illiad, The Odyssey, The Aeneid, The Metamorphoses, The Thebaid. Dante’s Divine Comedy was the first time a epic was written in anonther language. Other’s include the Song of Roland and Beowulf. The Divine Comedy broke the mold first though.
Rather than the tortures not having any effect on level 6 prisoners, I think it's mainly bc it's too risky to have them in level 6. People in level 1 get chased around with tridents through a forest. Could you do that with stronger prisoners? There is not even much security bc they are weak. Buggy was able to cheag even. The lower you go, less liberty of movement you get and less guards. The tortures become more and more passive. You get them only by being there, so there is less marge of error. Level 6 may be too dangerous for any torture, because that leads to riots and errors. And while they can't escape, it would be dangerous of them roaming around even the level.
Every thing we've been told about a god and the afterlife has spawned from the mind of a human being. If a god exists then it is entirely different than anything humans minds have created. It doesn't though. 😂

I remember in school doing a faux inferno and had to have examples of people being given a personalized torture. As per my suggestion: Leonardo DiCapio had to deal with the dollar bill on a string trick, but it was an Oscar (Granted, he has since finally won one of these, and thus belittles the humor in it)
@Soham Duble World Nobel: Not an actual dragon Monkey D. Dragon: Only named dragon not an actual dragon Punk Hazard: Artificially made by Vegapunk Momonosuke: artifical devil fruit made by Vegapunk Kaido: ????
The worst thing you can actually do to a prisoner is put them in isolation, which also ties to dantes inferno, I think a quote is "Satan conveys at its sharpest the ultimate and universal pain of Hell; isolation." And you can look up what happens to people if they're locked in isolation for a long period.
Well knowing One Piece, that is really possible. There just has to be a giant plant so high that it gets to one of the sky islands. I actually can see this happening😂
9:20 Well actually it already is done. Oil rigs that have to operate in heavy seas like the North sea are build on concrete pillars rather than steel scaffolding. the way that they do it is that they make a floating platform held in place by chains and pour the concrete structure on top of it. As it get's higher the weight pushes it gradually into the sea. The downside platform holds the pillars in place and stops them from swaying too much since it's anchored down. Once the legs are one the ocean floor they either fill the bottom platform full of concrete or they sink it down into the ocean. After that they hoist a stripped out platform on top of it with a crane and then start fitting it out. The cranes that lift those platforms are some of the largest cranes in the world since even when stripped out of everything but it's structural elements the top platforms often can weight over 4000 tons or more. You can't just build it piece by piece in those rough seas since it would be torn apart. Impel Down is a more complex structure so I don't think it was made in one go like that. One way they could do it is with Caisons. Giant watertight structures that you build empty on land and then sink down into the sea. There you build the inside while underwater since usually having the inside be full makes it too heavy to float or to tug. It's how they make support pillars for bridges or foundations for buildings near lakes or the sea shore. That is how I think Impel Down was made. Having a series of caisons that were stacked. One by one until they broke the surface. It's not a very practical way of doing it since you have to go down every day to build it but it's possible. Caisons are sort of like boxes that you sink down to create work space. The third way is to just build the complete structure on land and then float it out and sink it. that is done with buildings here as well. The thing is that is usually fairly small buildings. Large structures under water are usually a series of small structures that were sunk down one by one and then connected to each other. Similar to how they build the space station. Impel down is a massive single structure that's extremely heavy so caisons really are the only way to do it. The issue though is that this is very time consuming since the caisons would have to be massive. Since you have to sink down to the building every day and all the supplies have to go down as well. Though fishmen do make it easier since they can just remain underwater and under pressure indefinitely without any real negative effects. The construction of Impel Down is not solely reliant on slave labor. Making something like that also involves massive amounts of skilled labor.
The security of impel down is also that they can get reinforcements from Marine HQ through the gates of Justice (Except when they are at war with a Gonko). Also the security during Luffy's escape was separated 3 ways fighting people who knew the complete layout a Gonko (except Blackbeard/Luffy now) would not have that.
Lol, Dante's inferno is nothing to the Chinese hell. And the Chinese's hell is nothing to the hell of my darkest imagination. If you have no one greatest fear, then you are sent to a different part of the level which holds one of your other strongest fears every hundred years. Heat - Basically the cookie cutter hell we all most familiar with. Cold - A frozen wasteland like level six of Impel Down. Electricity - You are constantly being zapped by lethal levels of electricity but never get use to it. Temptation - For the gluttonous and greedy, they are are only fed enough food and water to keep them alive but always have the most delicious foods in front of them. If they eat these foods, then they are sent to the starvation and thirst level for a thousand years. Needles - Basically level one of Impel down. Starvation & Thirst - A wasteland where you must endure being starving and thirsty for hundreds, if not thousands of years. Death & Rebirth - A place filled with demons of all kinds which will devour you alive, only for you to be reborn a short time later. Hallucination - A wasteland where the prisoners are forced to hallucinate all manner of things to drive them crazy. Upside Down Hanging - Prisoners hang from the ceiling, forcing them to endure having the majority of their body numb and the feeling of all the blood being in their head. Weight - A wasteland where prisoners are forced to endure a gravity ten times what they are use to and never get use to it. World Holding - Essentially, it's just a bunch of the worst people standing on stone pillars over a bottomless abyss holding up one world or another like Atlas did the Earth. Wandering - Prisoners are forced to wander this level, unable to ever stop moving while suffering great fatigue from this. Insomnia - Prisoners suffer from sleep depravity in a light-less wasteland. Suffocation - A wasteland where prisoners are always gasping for air where none exists. Knowledge - Prisoners are driven insane with the knowledge of what their life could have been like if any number of things happened instead.
Except when you take into consideration the knowledge of exactly how to arrive at a life where you would have been happy and which would not lead you to damnation in hell but rather a peaceful afterlife, it is horrible, maybe the worse or one of the worst ones.
What always bothered me about Impel Down, is that Level 6 is by far the calmest and nicest level. How does that make sense when compared to themes of the rest of the prison? Also the upper level seem to be designed to straight up kill prisoners slowly through torture. That's expected when coming from the World Government, but again, why not kill the Level 6 prisoners?
stanj85 death might be too good a Mercy that they probably don't deserve. So they let them suffer by having them be stuck in a jail cell until they die.
stanj85 I guess it's super boring...or something? Maybe the inactivity is meant to weaken your body, so the longer you spend there, the worse your prospects even if you do get out.
I think that level 1 and 2 should be switched. A normal prison with monsters as guards that don't do anything unless you leave your cell or having to walk on razors all your life.
We are forgetting that one piece world has something called "devil fruits" . I think it would be a much easier task building a prison underwater if they utilized them. Hypothetical scenario- get Aokiji to freeze the ocean, get Mohawk to cut the ice where the construction needs to take place, use golden lion shiki's ability to remove the ice..and start construction (just an example with some of the people that comes into mind who can make it work)
@@TheNiroBlack Sorry for the late reply but your comment just gave me an idea, Pica's DF could potentially create the facility in one go if I'm not mistaken (I'm a bit uninformed on timelines like when Pica obtained the DF or when Impel Down was constructed but I would assume someone in the WG could've had the ability and created the structure)
I'm only 5 minutes into the video but I thought something Tekking said is actually highlights why one piece is such a great long running Manga, whilst many others like Bleach fall apart. "I love the Reunions that we get with past characters, so Oda doesn't just forget about characters when they are introduced..." and then he names a few. I think what really matters here is that not only has Oda not forgotten about past characters, but each and every one of them was memorable in the first place. I mean, Mr 3 from Baroque Works is instantly recognisable with his silly haircut, and has re-appeared a number of times (including the title page comics), as do many friends and villians from the series. Unlike in a series that (lets face it was **** in the end) like bleach, which started out so well, and introduced so many interesting edgy characters.... and then forgot about them as they introduced more characters, some of whom were quite samey... and then more characters and then... wait he was in a previous arc right? who was he again? Actually nevermind I don't care anymore. I guess its like in Full metal alchemist. There was not a single character I strongly disliked. Every single one of them is interesting enough that I can understand why they make the choices they make. And because of that, they were each memorable.
Dantes inferno is hard to read maybe because my copy is in both english and i think latin, but ive played the game and watched the anime it was pretty good each part of hell is done by a different animator so Dante's style changes, its pretty gord.
No lie, I have never watched a single episode of one piece. But I’ve watched a ton of your videos about it and I really like the way you explain things. Always keeps me interested even though I have no clue what you’re talking about. Haha. One day I’ll start actually watching it. But great job man. Love the videos. Keep it up. 👍🏻
Your way of torture makes me think of the hell in Lucifer the series. where they live over and over again their worst memory or what took them into hell.

I would love a What if Whitebeard attacked impel down video. I'd imagine the end result is Ace gets freed but the Whitebeard pirates suffer great casualties, half the crew is killed, possibly even Whitebeard himself. One of the main questions is if Luffy knew the Whitebeard pirates were trying to save Ace at Impel down would Luffy find going there necessary?
@@00220022inferno nope, i think hes on par with the admirals, vice admirals cant one shot effing blackbeard and his crew, hes even more than the admirals actually, what made you say hes a vice admiral level? Dapak? The Head of Impel Down is vice admiral level? He had that title for a reason so eventually he has his own level which is in par with admirals or even more powerful than a yonko commander.
Take my words with a grain of salt, I'm not the most familiar with One Piece. However, I see him being on the High End of Vice Admiral, but if he were to compare and compete with the Admirals I think he would fall short. This is mostly because Luffy and Friends managed to out wit him and escape. I see the Admirals as Marine Yonko, and Magellan isn't quite that strong.
@@00220022inferno plot armor to luffy and co. Lol also hes exhausted after battling every single prisoner even iva got 1 shotted. You dont see other people in the one piece franchise that can easily one shot a yonko and co. If hes on par with the vice admirals then you could say that vice admirals can one shot a yonko? Without an antidote they would probably die. If you visualize or categorize people like for example an admiral just because there devil fruit is a logia type, then you are wrong, just because he has a paramecia devil fruit "which" isnt par with the admirals which have a logia df then you are wrong. Keep in mind its not just about the df of the person, consider also about how they use the df, how they utilize it, how to efficiently use it in battle, endurance, strength, and also their greatest feats, if you dont consider these aspects then you could say vice admirals can "one" shot a yonko.pathetic.Its because of plot thats why they escape, fuck even luffy almost got killed, like literally he was suffering , thats one his greatest feats. Not only that without an antidote what will happen to blaclbeard and co.?He would not fall short. If he would then he should not have the title of warden in impel down. Remember, Impel down is a prison, all prisoners should be intimidated to the warden. Though he would not be par with the yonko or the fleet admiral but if you consider this aspects that i said earlier he could be in par with the admiral. Warden = Admiral > Yonko Commander > Vice Admiral
@@00220022inferno Also if you consider admirals as marine yonkos, there are problems in this statement, first there are only 3 admirals so the "yon" in yonko should not be applied, and second what would be status of the fleet admiral if you were to compare admirals to yonkos, effing all 3 admirals stop attacking when shanks show up! Take this salt and eat it. Literally LOL.
I HOPE YOU READ MY IDEA HOW IMPEL DOWN WAS MADE..... 1. you need aokiji or former user of his devil fruit 2. you capture san wan wolf 3. you freeze sea 4. you build impel down around captured san wan wolf 5. you unfreeze sea
They simply got sea prism stone cuffs on to him and he shrunk back to his regular giant size. His df is what makes him gigantic but in relations to other giants without it he’s normal sized
Jus here to make sure tekking is alright...Halloween is a mysterious and spooky time after all....carry on folks. Nothing to see here. Cancel that: Geography is Everything!
Impel Down alwasy struck me as the mos inefficient way of handling criminals in a coup d'État, because if you're already going as far as to unilaterally charge every criminal with incarceration, I could understand it, somehow. But if you want to erase someone, you just kill them dammit. Like if they are legitimately a threat to their power (by holding information or abilities) then killing them is the logical solution, the dead don't speak (unless you're Brook) and half of those prisoners apparently had mad strength and a bunch of reasons to die. Like they are kind of strict but also not that strict. And some people may say "well, the TORTURE them so they repent" but do they really? Like, if the repent nothing happens, no one leaves Impel Down alive unless they escape. Telling everyone "once you go to Impel Down you die" is probably less of a deterrent than "they'll torture you for the next century" but you could literally tell people you torture them, and then kill them the moment they set foot inside. The best of both worlds. And you can say "WELL, not ALL the government is a piece of shit" but then again, those who are at the top are pieces of shit, and those are the ones that pick who works where, so they just have to pick the most sadist pieces of shit, like fruit from the tree, and telling them "you get to kill people for the rest of your life". Hell, Shiryu was probably the NUMBER 1 PICK for that specific post in the first place.
The point of all governments, in our own world, is to punish people, for any number of reasons. Death is simply not a punishment for the one committing the crime. It's a punishment for those connected to the criminal. In essence, the use of execution strengthens the bonds people have with each other. It's the worst possible way for an oppressive regime to treat their criminals, as it only ensures greater rebellion in the future. And, as for the suggestion that they could simply lie to the populace about what happened... that doesn't really work, because the best solution in the first place would be to tell the populace that the prisoners were imprisoned, and the best way to actually punish the criminals would be imprisonment anyway. Authoritarian oppression relies far more upon psychological attacks than outright aggression. Executing criminals only shows fear. And why should the people fear the government, if the government itself fears a single person so much? That's the entire premise behind One Piece's golden age of piracy in the first place... the government showed the world how much it feared Roger, which encouraged more of the people to rebel.
The Celestial Dragons are really psychic Vampires from outer space who feed on human suffering. That is why Impel Down exists. To channel psychic torment to the Celestial Dragons, increasing their power and might so that they might one day did Emu Sama in destroying Australia.
I don't think the fear of the government about Roger had anything to do with the upbringing of the golden age. If anything, it was his words which started the fire inside of everyone seeking glory, power or freedom to become pirates in the first place, desires which these people already had. Not only the thought of a treasure beyond everyone's belief, but the certainty that such treasure existed and it's relative location by it's former owner. At best, the only way to interpret Roger's case as a connection with the government is that not even the strongest crew in the world can evade "capture" forever, which also doesn't really help people become rebels. You also didn't really give any reason for not using my suggestion. You slightly touched the subject, then ricochetted right out. Since people will never see those criminals ever again unless someting unexpected happens (that as Tekking said, happened only twice in a few centuries), then just killing those in the last levels would be far more efficient, and it also keeps them from being a furhter threat, should a escape happen... just like it did. If not even the emperors try to take their crewmembers out of Impel Down, then it also means that people wouldn't be able to scout for criminals inside unless they were granted the permission to do so, thing the government can decide under any number of excuses, such as, that most of them are dangerous individuals that could kill you even if you are outside of their prison cell. Also, it's not like a far fetched suggestion either, they already killed like a whole island of people just because they knew a little bit more than the rest. The basically nuked the place for a few stones. If you tell me that's not an even greater show of fear than killing Roger, then I don't understand. Under your own arguent, such a massacre should've spawned many times more revolutionaries than the death of Roger and his words would ever do.
I'd say the prison was probably a tenryubito Idea. I mean it was most likely built with slavery, and it's a dumb idea. The whole thing reeks of them I'd say.
Not gonna lie, normally I don’t care for your opening jokes/puns/skits or whatever you call em. But this one was awesome ❤️ the “Banishment to Hell Application” had me rolling 🤣
I think, the worst type of torture would be complete sensory deprivation, like, imagine not seeing anything, even with your eyes open, not hearing anything beside your own heartbeat, not feeling anything as though suspended in the void, no heat no cold, just emptiness. Slowly becoming more restless, the faster and faster, you move around but you don't actually feel yourself moving, your heartbeat speeding up as you start panicking, no smell, no sense of touch. You keep moving, struggling but still nothing, nothing at all where is it all what's going on. You loose track of time as panic builds "how long have I been here?" you say but you don't hear the words, you don't feel yourself speaking, only hearing them inside of your head, the beating of your heart becoming deafeningly loud in the emptiness. That, I think would be the worst. Not only would you be truly bored, but you'd be truly disconnected from everything.
I can give you an explanation: #1. Fujitora and Aokiji devil fruit users were active back in the construction of Impel Down. Next, someone froze a good chunk piece of ocean. Next, there was some huge cutting process involved and finally with fujitora gravity manipulation power, levitate those cut chunck of ice. And there you have an empty space surrounded by frozen water.
I think one of the most cruel punishments is to be on a place were there is nothing, so you have nothing to do, no one to talk to, just you and your toughts, in time you will hear noises done by your body, like your heartbeat, and eventually you will stop tinking.
