The Rome Total War Original Soundtrack was composed by Jeff van Dyck in 2003-2004. It features vocals by Angela van Dyck, and bouzouki and mandolin by Saki Kaskas.
I just realized this is Jeff Van Dyck channel and not just a RU-vid-generated one, Gods, this man's music is my childhood's soundtrack. Forever, We Are All One, Bird of Time, the only songs that make me tear up even after all these years.
Maneuvering around the pontic war chariots. Winning several heroic victories in a row. Making Marcus Junius Brutus a commander of the likes of Hannibal and Scipio Africanus and setting the stage for the inevitable civil war...
“This, is the day of Destiny!” I can’t believe I’ve only just realised this was used in Death N Destruction from Spartan Total Warrior! Ever since 2005 it has been my favourite game and also my favourite OST, I would love to hear it on Spotify some day. I still remember the day the OST was uploaded 3 years ago on YT and I was so happy!
@@Casketkrusher_ still one of my fave games that i return to. i've played some spartan total warrior soundtrack while playing some rome 2 total war and it makes it so much more epic
Jeff, if you ever have any stuff about absolute unit which is Rome Total War soundtrack, we would be more than glad to see it. I would even take some random fun facts or musical notation! haha
Here’s a fun fact…when I recorded Angela singing on the Rome songs, I set up the mic in our closet cause it had the most “studio” like sound (probably all the clothes). So Ange sang all of those songs in our closet ;)
@@JeffvanDyckMusic That's incredible lol. I've always loved her singing, my favorite tracks and moments in the franchise were always tied to the songs she performed on like We Are All One, Forever, Divinitus, Bird of Time etc.
"Take up the shield, grasp the spear, sharpen the swords edge. This is a day of destiny! Today, the carrion birds feast, but they will feast upon our enemies, not on good Roman flesh!"
@Jeff van Dyck i spent quite a lot of time trying to time the song but even though I could sing with most of it I'm stumped when trying to sheet it, do you have a paper version i could see, because the rhythms are amazing!
@@JeffvanDyckMusic got to say your soundtracks frankly make the old total war titles. The current tracks dont hold a candle with what you provided in Rome, Medieval 2, and Shogun 2. Why CA doesn't utilize you anymore is beyond me. When they think total war of old we think to those moments your music made manifest. Thanks for making the early titles that much more grander.
CLYPEUM SUMITE, HASTAM TENETE, ACIEM GLADII ACUITE, FATORUM DIES EST! HODIE AVIUM CADAVERA EPULANTUR, SED INIMICIS NOSTRIS, NON BONIS ROMANIS CARNIBUS, EPULABUNTUR! (translated via Google translate, please help correct errors if you know Latin)
I adore this soundtrack, but I'm disappointed that there no longer seems to be any way to listen to these pieces of music without the obnoxious General's speeches before the songs. YT, Spotify, and all other sources I can find are the same in this way.
