“The thoughts are not problematic The believe that the thoughts are the reality is the problem” Thank you Rupert for this great insight, and Alan for sharing it with us!
How is it dear Alan that you manage to make a compilation of something I really needed to hear at this very moment! God's grace works through you, either helping me see more clearly or to validate my seeing. The prescription part is so interesting. It echoes Ramana Maharshi's example of how the thief (the separate self) becomes the policeman and pretends to hunt for the thief who is nobody but himself! Wonderful! Thank you so much.
@@alanneachell9092 Yes, hopefully it would dawn on them at some point to inquire who's the one thinking or even claiming that they're enlightened. And if they can't find out, then they'd realize it can't be known.
Age, environment, country, family, politics of the country has impact on that me that is personal. It localizes and limits. Beyond the limits and before the limits is nothing but imagination of mind at that time and place.
I got in touch with Rupert’s teaching in 2016 in a moment I was living a difficult situation with my job. After that, I have been watching his videos and reading his books at almost daily basis. Now 7 years later I feel that I am very far from having exotic spiritual experiences like Nirvikalpa Samadi or Kundalini risings, but what I can say by sure, is that little by little the world, material objects, thoughts and emotions have been loosing importance to me, As the perception and sensation of the world as illusion increases, the the empty space of awareness increases and begin to englobe all my perceptions, but the most important: In moments of sadness, depression or emotional circumstances, I am able to recognize the unlimited imperturbable background of peace in which all my experiences are known, in which all my experiences comes and goes and as the “substance” out of which, all my experiences are made. Thank you Alan I appreciate your so useful job compiling the essence of Rupert’s teachings.
We are also mixing the fact of "I am" with "I am a Muslim", or " I am a Christian". Why didn't Ruppert mention this fact? Perhaps he will loose some potentional customers?
The teaching must die with the "person". Then see and know what remains. "Art" without the "Art critic", just be. Being, being, being, knowing, knowing, knowing, no mental construction added.. No words, no concepts,.
@@bdloctwo years late but here goes lol - the answer is probably along the lines of.. our desires are for things which are all mental constructs, which we believe are separate from us, and which we feel will bring us happiness if we attain them. In truth, nothing is separate from us - we (the I Am) already are the abundance(s) which we seek in those mental constructs/desires. Seeing this, clearly, negates the desire and its associated suffering (the feeling of lack).
All we can say for sure is I am and that I know I am. Anything else is a concept. Believing that the concepts actually say what is true about reality is the source of all conflict. We can safely use concepts practically without believing them to be absolutely true
@@bdloc mental constructions, especulations,, added to what just "is", we creat these false "ideas" about everything. Sorry I know the question was for Alan.
