Nope, the lowest hearable frequency by human ears is 20Hz, and he doesn't need to go faster, if you use headphones you can clearly hear that low note. You could actually hear it from the 300bpm (300 x 4 = 1200, 1200/60 = 20), but it's pretty hard to hear with RU-vid's audio compression and all the white noise of drum.

@@jamesrains3405 not exactly. A buzz roll you push the sticks into the drums more and it hits about 4-5 times per stroke. On a double stroke its controlled to hit 2 times per stroke.

if he uses triggers, he can get away with doing doubles with his feet like he's doing here. Less effort overall, but requires more focus to keep the double strokes clean. Otherwise, it's a pain in the ass learning singles at high speeds lol

The fire rate of a 7.62x39 AK is 600 rounds per minute. Given that double stroke roll is four hits per beat it would sound like what he plays at 150 bpm. A double stroke roll at 450 bpm would basically be a CIWS system firing.

Play it on half speed, extremely sloppy. At 380 he's pretty much playing triplets with some 16th notes making there way in there by accident, hes clean all the way up to 350 and that's impressive af, so, not hating but his top speed is 350 not 450

No hate to this guy, he's got tremendous hands, but he's taking liberties with the upper tempos, just as loads of YT instrumentalists do in YT videos that make claims of playing 16th notes at ludicrous tempos (300 bpm+), particularly guitar as well. 16th notes blurring into triplets is super common, because it still sounds fast as shit at these tempos and viewers take it at face value because they've already seen these guys crush the lower tempos. The main thing that bothers me about these upper limit claims is that it gives musicians who watch these things and top out at lower tempos an inferiority complex about their skills, when in fact there's a bit of misrepresentation going on.

That's about 31 drum hits per second, at 450bpm he's playing about the same speed (30 hits per second), but it's unlikely he could maintain it for 3 minutes straight, as it's clear he's struggling to keep tempo at that speed. It's still extremely impressive though. I can only double roll at this tempo for about a half second before I completely lose the beat and it falls apart. Him being able to keep it up for 16 bars is insane.

Chances are you're initiating the second stroke from the the wrist, doing that faster than 200 without tensing up is basically impossible. Instead, you should be practicing a wrist-finger hybrid movement to achieve 2 strokes with a single wrist-arm movement, such as the open-close technique. That should get you playing double strokes as fast as you can purely wrist-arm stroke singles.
