It never ends, just because physicists have been doing physics for thousands of years doesn’t mean they’ve found all the physics, who knows if they ever will. It’s the same for speedrunning. Some old games are simple enough to be solved, but most (including portal 2) are nowhere close.

No - the individual level runs are usually done in challenge mode where you start at the intended starting place of the level. I guess if you’re like an ultra speedrun purist - yes you can do the level faster with the toast skip, but the community only really acknowledges challenge mode for IL runs

Yup, it's even in roughly the same spot as it was in Portal!

The main thing that comes to mind is preserving your position relative to the door, so you don’t suddenly appear closer/further away from the door when the next level loads. That or it’s an oversight

Yes! You can do anything if you are determined to make it work. There are people who will tell you there's no way you can do it, that it's completely impossible. Of course they will tell you that; They're the weak-willed bunch who lack the tenacity to do so themselves. Naturally they're going to want to discourage you from trying; If they lack the ambition needed to take the next step, they don't want anyone else to ascend and leave them behind. How many times have they asserted something to be entirely impossible, only to be proven wrong? And still, whenever a new discovery is made, they will yet again exclaim that it can never be, and will never be done. I believe in you. I believe that if you just give it your all, you can conquer everything. Good luck!

It’d probably be impossible for a human because controllers have less precision than mice and there’s a max sensitivity on a controller.

@@Tumbledweeb The mouse uses the entire wrist for movement, whilst the controller only has a thumb. Also, the mouse has a larger surface area for it to move around in.

@@virtualashez I agree. So, that's how you control the camera. Now, how about movement? On PC, we use the keyboard. On console, however, we use an analogue stick, which is more precise than keyboard keys. Also, with regards to the analogue stick that controls the camera, there are these attachments you can buy that drastically improves your aim accuracy. Just to be clear on what "side" I'm on; I grew up on PC gaming. I need a Mouse to aim properly. On controller, I find myself spending a good 15 seconds trying to line up a shot. I'm useless with controllers and can't comprehend how anyone would pick controller over mouse and keyboard. I have a friend who booted up her PC to play some CoD, I think it was. When she was like "Brb gotta connect my controller" I was like "YOU ARE DEAD TO ME." Imagine having the luxury of keyboard and mouse, and then reaching for a fucking controller. PURE BLASPHEMY. With that being said, there are gamers out there who prefer controllers and say that they have a better aim with an analogue stick. The method of aiming is also different on controller; you aim with both analogue sticks, not just the one that controls the camera. I think that there are so many factors involved here that I don't think I can make a case for either one of the controller schemes being universally superior with aiming. I think the bottom line is that it all comes down to the individual player. Me, for example, I'm a woman with small hands, so I have issues with being able to grip the controller like the average man gamer is able to do. I also have an elbow injury which makes using a controller even more challenging.

i didn’t see the previous comment, but this is valid criticism i think this is a very much hate the game not the player type thing - exaggeration in the title/thumbnail is seen in most pockets of youtube, it usually makes the video topic seem more intriguing, although i’m sure some viewers can get sick of it.

Takes time for people to figure out what works then they'll act like they always knew. Irrational bags of feeling!
