@Jeffrey Scott hahaha are you serious their was no similarity. This guy sounded like a joke. People back then got pissed. His impression was so bad and the way he was treated people were so pissed mick Foley as mankind had to return and do a small confrontation with the fake one to save his image
@Jeffrey Scott hahaha their is no jealousy Flair was good but for him to insult Foley like that and he also called Teddy Long a n*** dhowsbhis true colors. mick Foley was very damn good and deserves respect. He was portrayed as an underdog unlike Hogan and Flair who were pushed as superheroes. If you watched the attitude era you would know that he is way better than Ric Flair. This guy was pushed by people to the main event scene because of how bold and great he is. The guy fel off the cage two times in one match and managed to finish the match and interfere in later stone cold vs kane that is how great he is.
The backstory behind imposter Kane is very interesting: Glenn Jacobs was supposed to retire as he was thinking about it and starting his film career with see no evil, Festus was going to defeat and replace him this continuing his legacy as the character cause of youth
U didnt show the best part of the Gillberg gimmick. The J.O.B. squad would make arches out of sparklers for Gillberg to traverse under. This "high tech" pyro entrance was a great touch, in mocking Goldberg's antics in his intro.
Mr. SIJW, Yeah the actual Undertaker vs Underfaker (Brian Lee) match was god awful (I recall watching it and hearing zero crowd reaction), but the buildup with Leslie Nielsen as Frank Drebin searching for UT was good.
Yo I loved the Undertaker cutting his throat at the Faker when I was a kid .... I remember watching that ppv and the second he did it , I jumped up and yelled “YOURE FXXKED” i thought it was very cool .
I CERTAINLY don't remember Imposter Mankind. I was Smackdown since day one. That might have been one of the episodes I missed. Imposter Kane WAS supposed to be the real Kane....
The fake Mankind I do remember. There was a clip of Mick Foley (As Mankind) attacking the Fake backstage. Also another question I have is: Would you consider the 4 Times Undertaker and Kane desguised themselves as the other (Kane as Undertaker once and Undertaker as Kane three different times) as an impersonation or an impostor gimmick?
Great video.👍 On the note of impostors I'd just like to mention a REALLY obscure one that MOST fans wouldn't know or think of; unless they watched WEW. For those who don't know WEW is an ALL women's division with a FEW males, but only in rolls of camera work, referee, or announcing. However one if the women had a MALE manager who went by the name of the Smoke. His catchphrase was, " If you don't knooooooooowwwww... Well now you KNOW!" He was obviously based off of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Also I had an idea for a fake double that would've paid off. I wanted to see Brey Wyatt attacked by the FIEND; only to unmask him at some point during the match to reveal his brother Bo Dallas. I created my own storyline where the two would clash at Wrestlemainia and Alexa would STILL betray Brey, but for Bo; not stupid Orton. Oh well. Perhaps one day I'll create this story in a wrestling game and share it with all of you in the future.😉
there were multiple imposter KANES UNDERTAKER fake KANE at the pay per view ABYSS he did the black hole slam as FAKE KANE FESTUS at RAW when he was unmasked
I'll tell you who Renegade fooled....a guy I knew back in sixth or seventh grade. It was during a phase when I wasn't watching wrestling or at least WCW at the time. My friend told me "They brought the Ultimate Warrior into WCW to be Hulk Hogan's bodyguard! They're calling him Renegade now!". That actually made me tune in to see...and I was immediately like "That's not the Ultimate Warrior." That wasn't even the Ultimate Warrior's brother who took over the role when the real thing died due to *checks notes* oh....well that's not even funny....but you could tell they were different guys. You see...the hair was different. Yes, the hair. That part of the human body that can't ever be altered. Seriously though I had a girlfriend in college who was adamant about that urban legend.
Jay lethal's ric flair was almost better than the real ric flair. & that pretty amazing considering he's black. It you don't know what I'm talking about just google jay lethals ric flair impression & be prepared for 1 of the funniest 7mins of your life.😁
And obviously Kane is now a mayor of Knoxville county lol and sporadically makes visits as a mosquito getting raped by a fruit rollup when he dawns the mask
I think it could work if they did something like when the person was exposed it turned out that they were posing as someone because they were that person's idol and they took it too far. Kinda like a Mickie James and Trish deal
Your forgetting Kevin Nash and the NwO doing the Four Horsemen! It was legendary probably the best of all them or that one dude Jason something "can't remember his last name off hand at the moment, sorry" but him being Owen Hart which was awesome with DX being the Rock and the rest of the Nation of Domination.
@ The SIJW Well technically it could be in either one or in even both because in those parodies not only were they wrestlers and or group gimmicks but also they were wrestling as them for a short period too, so I get what your saying. Thank you by the way for your reply
