Even in this simple video I feel encouraged. I make videos but I'm losing the passion for it and kinda want to focus my time and energy on other things that fuel me and that matter more (husband, kids, health). Every free minute is precious and I need more variety. It's nice to see you and sometimes "no news" is the best news.

Yes!!!!! So nice to see your face. My kids are 4 and (almost) 6 and your videos were a much appreciated companion in the early days. I second the request for book reviews! What are you reading? I am also loving reading more now the kids are a bit older and I have some time and brain function back. I agree about RU-vid and miss those days! I have a whole theory about it... RU-vid was a genuine site of resistance to the dominant culture where people could share their lives honestly and vulnerably, and create freely. The dominant culture (advanced capitalism) seized on its popularity and managed to incorporate it by making it a well paid job for people through ads, brand collabs, and nice editing (packaging). This turned it into a mouthpiece for capitalism rather than a resistance movement while maintaining the feeling of community and shared experience that made it popular. A perfect example of the theory of hegemony at work.

So happy you came back to say hi. I’ve been watching your videos since you were TTC Alice and I have always enjoyed them and admired your values. Whatever you choose to do, thanks for coming back to give a quick update. All the best to your family!

You won’t remember me, I’ve had several channel name changes since we chatted but I requested to follow you on Instagram recently. I started watching you when my son was about 11 or 12 and now he’s finished school and off to university so major life changes here. Just make videos your style when you feel the urge, I always felt like you were a breath of fresh air.

Those are what I love and hope people will stick with. I'd love to hear about your house experience, and renovations, those are always fun to see what people are doing with their homes. Also love to hear about your kiddos and their/your experience with public school, preschool. etc. My older two are similar in ages to yours. Glad you are enjoying winter, I wish I could say the same. After living in Souther California for most of my adolescence and some of adulthood, the East Coast has never settled well with me and this time of year is soooo hard!! I was so incredibly depressed after having my daughter almost 4 years ago now. Now i know it was post partum, but it took over a year to come to terms with it and begin addressing it. Anyhow, in that time your videos really helped. They kept me distracted from the negative and really just made me feel calm. Thank you for that ♡

You are real, to the point, and have lots of good stuff to share. Ok, so two things I learned from you: the granola recipe! Yes, need to make that again. And the veggie stock with all the left over pieces of veggies we collect. I would love to see more of these little tips and recipes and useful things you have done that maybe we haven’t seen before. I liked your giveaways and I would love to participate in any community-like experience that can connect us...like send a used book your kid doesn’t read anymore. I am so glad you posted an update! Watching your pregnancy journey with Alice, your videos about cloth diapering (which I've shared with friends), family life/projects, then having August and moving were all so helpful to me when I had my oldest son (he's five and a half now), moved to the SW, then home to the NW and had another child. You don't know me but you felt like a kindred spirit on a journey into the uncharted waters of parenthood; someone who speaks to my heart like a friend. I hope life is treating you well! If I ever get brave enough to post a single video on here, I'll let you know

Hi! I've missed your awesome face. I know you hold no promises but feel like i should say thank You! When I was having Gabriel my 6 year old born in August 2011 I followed you and learned so much about becoming a better mother then I already was. I found my love of cloth diapers through you and so many other mom things! Little Gabriel became a big brother Nov. 2016! So now were back in with all the baby stuff and it's been so fun. Nice to see you again Kaity! I first saw your videos when I had my first child in 2015. At that time, I wanted RU-vid to be precisely the medium/platform that you used it for; simply a place to share your everyday experiences and connect with other like-minded people. Your videos helped me to navigate the crazy, fun, exhilarating, and exhausting journey of parenting. I related to being a proud cloth diaper'er and wanting to be a very "present" parent, and make special memories and document the entire experience for my child to have when older. I admire how you put yourself "out there" and shared your experiences in spite of how it likely wasn't always convenient or natural.Thanks for your videos. I hope that you will continue to share them. ;-)
