@@CarAudioFabrication It's all the work that makes a proper install look so "easy" and simple. I can't remember the number of times over the years where somebody has seen something I've done to integrate a speaker or piece of equipment into an installation, and then ask, "Oh cool. Could you perhaps spend a minute and whip one of those together for my car?" It's usually followed by awkward pause, lol.

@@CarAudioFabrication Might be a dumb question, but is there a benefit of going 6.5 with a separate tweeter vs going with a full range (3 way) 6x9?

You put in a HUGE amount of both TIME and DETAIL when doing your installs and fabrications. That shows quality work.
@PGeoffLenoir

I started out back in 1992 reading every magazine I could in order to learn as much as possible about car audio before I got my first car and adding a system. Got bitten by the bug and for 8 years I devoted my life to car audio. Time changes all things yet after watching several of your videos I would love nothing more than to take some fabrication classes and possibly get back into one of the single best hobbies (only second to RC cars) I'd ever been involved with. Your attention to detail and the fact you understand that button head hex screws are the best looking screws even though they will never be seen again (if all goes as planned) and that you make sure all your edges are standalone show quality is inspiring. Pride in ones workmanship is missing in today's society. Thanks for the truly inspiring videos. You're the Chip Foose of car audio IMO.

I literally laughed out loud when I saw that creepy little hand come into the frame. For anybody who is new to using routers, it’s worthy of noting that if you do flush trim or template cutting/pattern cutting, you’ll want to pre-shape the pieces with a jigsaw/bandsaw, just as he did when he went to do the acrylic piece. Less material to be cut away means less strain on the router motor, which equates to longer lifespan of the tool. Another similar practice that helps increase tool lifespan, is to cut less than the full depth of the workpiece in one pass, by breaking it up in increments, cutting a third or half of the thickness of the material to be cut away on each pass. Great knowledge included in a great video, thanks for sharing it. Aloha

You can really tell you're good at this stuff because you make it all look so easy.... Nice work mate...... I will definitely subscribe as I learnt a lot watching this. I used to do audio installs about 20 yrs ago, nowadays I just do it in my own car or helpmates. Yrs ago I did an install on my girlfriend's car, her brother purchased all the same stuff to put in his car that was also the same as hers. She complained because it took me 2 days to do hers and her bro had his all up and running in half a day... But like I said to her, I can do a half ass job like him and it would all work. About 1 month later his started shorting out and sub box was falling apart an it really looked crap. Hers run without for many yrs after...... My theory is, take your time and do the job the right way the first time....... I'm still the same today, I can't do a half assed job, research and install once and do it right the first time..... Thanks for putting the effort into filming your work...... Top job 👍👍👍👍

On top of what Mark said, also remember this. If you acquire some essential tools, which include a router and a jigsaw, you can go a long way. Yes, you do need some things to start out with, but remember, you don't need the latest and greatest in router lifts and tables. You'd be surprised at what you can find on the used market if you look for say a Jessem lift and table. The bits are important though so don't skimp on those, and a bunch of basic templates are as well. But you will also be able to create your own templates over time. Every time I've done a template in MDF or another somewhat durable material, I keep it, so I got a lot of interesting odd shapes, and circles in just about any diameter there is. But the important thing to remember is this. Wood is pretty darn cheap. When learning to use your router and jigsaw, you can use so many things. You don't need a nice piece of MDF or birch plywood. Get the cheapest sheet wood you can, boards as well. Anything you can cut, route or sand etc. Go to town on that stuff, make shapes, use templates, do freehand. You'll be surprised at how much skill you can pick up just by using your tools, especially if you combine that with watching some good videos about wood work. Good luck.

Amateurs have a router table... professionals have a router bench! Slick setup w/3 routers in a row for your most commonly used bits. BTW nice touch of humor slipping the baby hand in there. Although, you went to way too much trouble for something nobody will ever see, the spacers are a work of art.

absolutely beautiful work. I do not have anywhere near your skills but one thing similar I do is whenever I remove a panel or anything in my car, I do the tapping everywhere and deaden everything. So it was cool to see that it was not just me, and if you do it, then I know it is the right thing to do. wrapping the plastic fasteners was a new one though I have padded them with silicone gel. anyway, the videos are awesome..
