Today, renowned artist Hazel Soan demonstrates the art of the brushstroke, showing how to manipulate each brush full of paint to create the shapes you want in a beautiful and spontaneous way.
Her genius for using a few well placed marks to give the illusion of realistic trees in the landscape, flying birds, wading birds and the movement of people in every day situations will have you mesmerised.

The video quality is wonderful and the instruction is very helpful, but then that is the standard we would expect from Hazel Soan. A nice bit of water colour magic.

Glad I took the time to watch this, you have certainly shown me that I don’t actually need the smaller brushes that I often work with, but I will have to learn to use the larger ones as you do. Practice, practice. Thank you for another great tutorial

Thank you very much for the tutorial. My brushwork is perhaps the single greatest obstacle I am currently facing in learning watercolor (my milieu had previously been charcoal/pencil/pen and ink). Your videos are great in clarifying the principles of watercolor brushwork. May I ask where you got that palette? Or, if you cannot recall, are there any manufacturer's marks or other indication of who produced it? Thank you.

I won't use a sable brush because millions are sold and they all come from animals. You can't tell me that it's not cruel.
