Great. Now your clutch is unbalanced. You need to rebalance the whole thing so there are no vibrations and this also would help longevity of the wheel bearings.

easy t ore-balance the bell..... to me this is a good idea. the least amount of clutch dust the better.. but the best part of this is the clutch lining will stay cooler as too will the bell.. it realy is a good improvement to the clutch.. not going to make it any faster but could make it last longer.. and if any water / moisture gets in it would be chucked out the slots straight away... well done mb
Remind me when I had my first car. I took the throttle plate out of the Honda Civic DX single overhead cam engine and shaved the half that aims towards the intake air down to razor sharp, thinking I was some type of hot rodder. It was an automatic and the only other mods were holes drilled in the muffler.
Here in the Phil. they make a hole/slot around the lining of the bell and put a groove on the lining as well for additional bite/grip, same concept with this one.
Hi jeremi happy new year, you say it right, but you have to measure so that the centrifugal force is open and the center of gravity is correct, i.e. the holes are well distributed.
In thailand we modify CVT , there are many adaptations. But from the basics, you shouldn't adjust the rear clutch. Will improve only the front clutch angle😳
I sold in dales that these conversions there are too many I have this one the easiest and what better than it I thought I did it to leave dust better from the plate also you don't heat read it describes it I say everything there.
but the dust does not really escape. It just gets circulated more widely inside the outer cover (and onto the belt). Better solution. open cover and blow out dust (carefully) with compressed air. Wear a mask cuz it will be a nasty black cloud
if i had a lathe i would try to put a spiral groove like a thread on the inside, opposite of rotation direction to guide dust out of the bell and allow the shoe to burnish and maintain grip.
You do know that the clutch puts pressure on that bell? All you did was weaken the structure of the bell. With the pressure from the clutch you'd be luck if the didn't warp the bell. If you feel you need to do this a better option would've been holes on the lip of the bell. How much dust do you think accumulates in that bell from the clutch, when it already have holes in it? If you're getting excessive dust, get a better clutch.

@@MBPATENTS multiple holes. Check the JVT brand or RS8 on how they drill holes on it or you can also check how indonesian modify their clutch bell. It is more safe and doesn’t affect the balance of the bell
@@MBPATENTS bell is balanced before installation. Thats why bell have 2-3 dents at the side. Who told you that by grinding that, the balance is not affected?
Is there any after market part such as this??? I don't think I ever seen one... Wonder if you could make the clutch pad to be replaceable as well... I wanna say concept but you already realised it. This one is a cool project from anyone so far, don't think the scooter gets much love other than getting malossi parts.

What I like the most about your videos is that you don't do fancy, you make it no bs no magic powder just doing what you know and showing it to the world! And that is respectable, not mentioning you give aspirations to a non mechanic guy like me to do my own stuff, experiment on things and if it didn't work, do it another way. To me that nurtures and broadens the minds for innovation even if the dang thing is 40-50 years old. Old tech can teach new mechanics new tricks! I see, cutting the pads for better grip and the grooves to get rid of the dust.. either way you have to clean the entire thing every 5k km to avoid the oil seals from getting worn by dust.
Hi rajkap I'm interested in getting the dust out of there and keeping it clean, as a result of which the hub pads turn black from what dust when the scooter starts, it vibrates at the start is also a reason.
Не совсем понятно в чем заключается улучшение? Отвод пыли в закрытом механизме что даёт? Меняются характеристики вала. Биение, нагрев в месте трения(так как тепло хуже отводится на край), риск перетирания ремня в верхней точке. Что улучшилось?
Hi Slavik так что вместе с пылью челюсти становятся несколько черными, на них появляется кожа, которая становится очень твердой, в результате чего после 30 000 километров скутер начинает трясти, по этой причине от пыли лучше избавиться, потому что пыль делает корка, которая нехороша, это сгоревший барабан
@@MBPATENTS это частицы ремня прикипают, с учётом того, что вал будет греться сильнее, прикипать будет больше. + будет биение на оси. Непонятно почему в отверстия должна попадать пыль? Он же вертикально стоит😊

@@MBPATENTS ни вверх ни вниз, ни в глубине души нет такого. Раз в 5-15 лет почистить нагар труда не составит. А вообще, 30000 это весь срок службы мопеда по российским меркам. Думаю ничего ты не проверял, к 60000 это уже металлолом.

Do you know for what the clutch bell Jacket is there ? The outer ring weldet on the clutch bell ? My weldet spots are broken can i remove the outer ring and still use it ?
Hi Eugen if you glue it with electric welding it will go wrong it's not right if we glue it some tik with aragon will last but remember to know the points on the glue if they match good otherwise you can't put it on your own as it will be you will lose the centrifugal or else take a new one is not too expensive

El ingeniero de Honda que diseño esa campana de embrague se acaba de suicidar.... Como se puede ser tan ignorante en modificar un diseño tan preciso del sistema CVT.... Perforarla y cortarla ya hizo que quede desbalanceada.....

dust sits and sticks to the pads causing the dust to be burnt something that is not needed for this every scooter then when it starts it is like shaking this is all from the centrifugal this is the reason to clean a little more dust😉
Buy a reveno clutch and stop wasting time on useless dangerous mods that will cost you money in repairs in the future... Anything unbalanced is destuction waiting to happen

This is Unsafe Modification. Using Ballpen and a Tape to measure are already a bad idea the worst thing is using a Grinder is not precise method to balance the Clutch Bell or the Clutch shoe. Unbalance Parts lead to undesirable Vibration in CVT lead to serious damage from the parts or overtime it can lead Lossing Torque from the nuts. it can cause Explosion inside the CVT. The Stock Clutch Bell is go on serious safety measures from the manufacturer it self, Unsafe Modification can lead damage for the motor or serious injuries. Hi canebro um den Staub von selbst besser zu reinigen, denn solange er funktioniert, bleibt er drin. Nach einigen Kilometern beginnt der Motor beim Starten zu zittern, und das ist auch sehr gut

This modification is at best unnecessary and at worst could cause damage to the scooter and rider should these wrecked parts fail..NO NO NO NO....
