I recently installed Hornby's new W1 sound file to fit in my Loco.
Wanting to get the best possible sound from it I tried different speakers for comparison.
The results are shown on the video but the best improvement in performance turned out to be the fitting of a Hornby Power Bank which gave outstanding low speed running qualities.

I think the sound file needs adjusting. The rebuilt W1 had three cylinders so you should be getting three chuffs per wheel revolution. You are actually getting half that.

Hi, you may be right but the sound file is downloaded complete from Hornby to match a particular loco in this case a W1 File and I don't think that there is any way that you can adjust them. Someone with more technical skill might know otherwise but it's beyond my ability so I just leave things alone and accept it. Richard
