I don't go to dance classes actually, I learn myself at home, this helped me improve a lot and I went to a dance competition as an indivicual dancer and I got 1st place! I'm really proud of myself.

i took some notes :) (edit: i thought she was done. added tips 6 - 9) 1) dance to the style of music basically avoid dancing ballet to rap music 2) focus on dynamics of music and incorporate into your dancing 3) think about diversity in your movement and including lots of different things (turn, leap, jump, floor work, leg extensions etc) 4) have a fall back move or two in case you have no ideas to whip out so you dont freeze up 5) PRACTICE. doing improv is relaxing & you will be more comfortable doing improv under pressure 6) play to your strengths but do not overuse certain “tricks” and keep listening to the music 7) if you are side stage, try to listen to when to stop 8) use up the whole space, be sure to travel some 9) if you don’t have space, or if you are improving in your home, you can try to improv around the objects. don’t be afraid to touch them
